"This pub was recommended to us by the owner of a shop in Downham Market so we took a chance that they could fit us in . Luckily they could .The food was really delicious. Starters of haddock goujons and cured beef were lovely. The cured beef just melted in your mouth and both of us shared it as the portion was very generous. Mains of Cajun salmon and pork belly were really lovely. The pork belly in particular was perfect. The meat melted in your mouth but the cracking was crisp, perfect! The service was good with staff happy to swap mash for chips on the pork dish. We would have loved desserts but both of us were so full we could only manage coffee. We have no hesitation in recommending The Hare Arms. You probably need to book at busy times though , it’s obviously popular , deservedly so."

We've been fans of The Hare Arms for a few years now. From our first visit, we were hooked. The food is delicious and the staff are very welcoming. The only drawback in our opinion is that the menu has remained the same for quite some time. It's disappointing as we enjoy trying new dishes.

Great Sunday lunch! Welcomed on arrival by friendly professional staff. We were a party of 4 and had different starters; all were excellent!!!! And then the main event......Beef Sunday roast. I would say one of the best Sunday roasts l have ever had. Given the opportunity we would definitely return.

I have been to the Hare Arms several times and have always enjoyed the fantastic food and service. The menu is creative, and the dishes are presented with attention to detail and style. The Sunday lunch is consistently excellent. The restaurant is located in a beautiful building with charming gardens. Overall, I cannot find any faults here. Voir le carte

Went with another couple and we all had different starters, main and dessert and all said it was the best meal we’d ever had certainly close anyway! Burger, Steak, Duck etc all top quality. We noticed the lady who had run the restaurant on Kings Lynn Tuesday Market Place, but don’t know whether she gave a hand in the kitchen or not? Fulls marks anyway!

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The building and surrounding grounds are stunning, and the peacocks that wander outside add a bit of entertainment, even with their noisy calls. The food was top-notch and the staff were very attentive. Plus, the prices were very reasonable. I definitely recommend giving this place a try for either lunch or dinner.

My wife and I along with some friends visited th Hare Arms Stow Bardolph for a Friday lunchtime meal and it was excellent. We've been before and I must say that the Lockdown has made the public house owners focus on good food, good service and a friendly welcome. We went back for Sunday lunch and again a very nice meal which we all enjoyed thoroughly. I would't hesitate to return to this restaurant and would recommend it oi anyone in the area wanting a nice meal. Voir le carte

My mother in law recommenced we come here for a rare child free date night and we were not disappointed!! I had the steak and my husband the ribs, both were cooked to utter perfection! The best food by far we’ve had for an extremely long time, the staff were polite and helpful. My only grumble would be we were sat where the kitchen entrance is and there’s just l no atmosphere there compared to the rest of the pub which had lit fires, a warm ambiance and a general cosy feeling unlike the restaurant area. We will most definitely be back though!!

As replies to previous negative reviews show the owner/s of this pub/restaurantdo not like to receive visitor comments.Previously really enjoyed eating here, but post covid the standard of foodhas really taken a nose dive.Scotch egg served in a metal tin, not garnished, only if you like mustard, a littlesalad would have been nice.Suet pudding was excellent, but served with chips, would expect mashor potatoes, I am sure it was not with chips on previous visits.Extremely rude lady who approached me and said SIT DOWN as Iwas taking my coat off. She needs to take a course in customer service.I appreciate that this is difficult times for this trade, but they must notforget their bread and butter....

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
