Fantastic place! Beautiful food and great service! Would come to Bath again just to come here! Best fillet steak I've had in the UK! Perfect!

Bit of a disappointment unfortunately. Expensive for what it is and on top they add a 10% service charge without asking. Given the location I suppose they survive by luring in tourists. There are better options further into town

Great place , relaxed atmosphere.GREAT tasty food all round...topped with happy pleasant service with smiles . Definitely be visiting again and highly recommend...remember to book a table ..not to be disappointed if they are full .

Group of four, we had 2 Herd sharing platters it inc Rib Eye steak Sirloin Steak and a fillet steak served with onion ring and chips. We can honestly say this was the best steak we’ve had in a very long time. Well done the herd keep up the quality

We were very kindly squeezed in for a steak. Staff were super freindly, felt very welcome! Service was great and the steaks were excellent. Sides were a little heavy on the salt for my taste but still very enjoyable. Will be back for a more thorough, longer visit soon!

Went looking for a simple lunch after a morning Bath Festival event and stumbled across The Herd. What a find, had the Steak Frites and it was cooked to perfection, absolutely perfect for my taste. Having found it for lunch going to have to return to try more of the menu. The service was exemplary, attentive and interested without being overpowering.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant about 3/4 years ago on our honeymoon, it was lovely but nothing that surprised us, we decided to come back to Bath last weekend and went back to this restaurant… it’s amazing how they grown to be better. The steak was just the best I had in such a long time and the staff always so lovely. Can’t wait to be back !! This place is just one of or if not, the best restaurant in Bath. Thank you so much.

There’s a reason this restaurant has a high star rating. Reasons for excellence : The steak was stunning! Perfectly cooked to specification, tender, flavorful. I’ve only ever had one better (that I didn’t cook myself) and that was several years ago in Hawai’i. Everything was clean, the dining plates and cutlery stylish, the waitress efficient. Music tasteful and not too loud. Excellent! Possible reason for lower than 5 stars: The only thing I can think of…the descent down stairs from the street level has a bit of a dungeon aspect to it… But the walls and ceiling in the restaurant are beautifully painted in clean white, and soft, white lighting lends a nice ambience. the ignorance of the food industry towards food allergies is frightening and the heart restaurant is an excellent example for this unpredictable ignorance. the restaurant was informed in advance about the heavy allergy of my daughter on seafood. they gave us a table next to the kitchen, because they ignore at the heart that an allergic reaction can be caused by breathing in steaming from the cooking of seafood or any food. they fry the chips in the same oil where they roast seafood and roast the meat at the same place where they fry the garnels. the alternative offered was a waiting period of 30 minutes, hoping that someone would go. they let us wait in a street where the other restaurants w...
