"Upon arrival we were shown to our room which was very pleasant. The snug was very snug which seemed more of a meeting point for gossiping staff behind the bar and their friends. The meal was nice enough albeit almost thrown onto the table in a rush, the service was appalling. Very slow, our bottle of wine sat on the bar for ages with no sign of staff aware of it, eventually we took it ourselves. We asked for a port twice to go with our cheese but finished the cheese before the staff even got their act together to take the bottle from the shelf (we cancelled the port). We were not approached again for coffee or anything else, we left the restaurant and retired to our room. The staff seemed to be drifting around in the three separate restaurant rooms with no clear idea of who was doing what. The management was very poor. I wouldn’t say they were under staffed just poorly managed. The bedroom was very noisy from the bar downstairs, scraping tables and chairs in the afternoon through to late evening. We made a coffee in the room to find there wasn’t any sugar and no means of getting any unless we dressed ourselves again the go to the bar. Breakfast was poor, very dry toast, sloppy undercooked boiled egg and the garden breakfast which claimed to have halloumi cheese was substituted with a rather nasty looking black pudding. All in all a very disappointing visit and an expensive one at that."

We chose to dine at this restaurant for lunch with a party of three. Each of us ordered three courses and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The southern Thai dish with soft shell crab was particularly scrumptious. We definitely plan on coming back!

I went to this restaurant after spending time in Reepham for a special lunch. It was an amazing experience and I couldn't decide on just one dish from the menu, so I ended up trying several delicious starters. The garden was also very beautiful. Voir le carte

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. As the weather was hot we sat in the garden under a pleasant covered area. I'm a very fussy eater, but there were lots of things on the menu for me to choose from. The portions were very generous, made with fresh quality ingredients. This was the best pub meal we have had in a long time! We will definitely be returning.

The pub was very busy due to Bank Holiday weekend but I had booked well in advance. Staff friendly and attentive. We had the Sunday lunch which was huge but very tasty. Maybe you don’t need mash and roasts none of us where able to finish both. Only other minor point no need for the music the pub was busy and didn’t need any additional noise adding to that. Lovely pub lunch.

Popped for dinner this evening and we had the most amazing meal. My husband had the Fillet and King Prawn surf and turf and extremely happy with his beautiful meal. I had the Roast Monkfish and King Prawn Indonesian Redang Curry which was simply sublime and it made me a very happy woman indeed. Truly a wonderful meal in lovely surroundings presented by charming and friendly staff. Brilliant meal, thank you. Voir le carte

We recently spent three days at Blickling and had a fantastic experience. The staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived, our room was beautifully decorated with stunning views and well-equipped, and it was cleaned and restocked with treats each morning. I made sure to book a table at the restaurant for both nights and was not disappointed. The food was exceptional - I particularly enjoyed the yellow Thai curry with crab and prawns, as well as the delicious lamb dish I had on the second night. By the time we left, we felt like part of the family and can't wait to come back for another visit. The prices were reasonable considering the high quality of the food and accommodations. A big th...

We stayed at the Bucks Arms for four nights, choosing it because of its convenient location for visiting Blickling Hall and other National Trust properties in the neighbourhood. Our room was spacious, and furnished with a large four poster bed, and it had an equally spacious bathroom running off it. The highlight of our stay was the meals a large full English breakfast in the morning and a first rate dinner in the evening. As other correspondents have reported, the portions here are generous to say the least, and you 'll never go away hungry: after we 'd eaten breakfast, we scarcely needed to buy lunch. In every sense, the Bucks Arms offers excellent value for money. Our criticisms are few a...

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
