"My family went to this pub for a birthday lunch earlier this month. We are frequent visitors of The Old Swan in Cheddington, so we decided to check out their sister pub. It was a wonderful experience! The menu was diverse and exciting, the service was top-notch, and the prices were fair. We were very impressed and will definitely be returning in the future. Kudos to the entire team!"

The experience was underwhelming. I paid £10 for a cheese and onion sandwich that was disappointingly thin. The bread was thinly sliced and the filling was lacking.

Homemade pie with beef mince alongside skinny chips 3 veggies. Absolutely delicious! Possibly best pie ever. Service is friendly efficient. Highly recommend this gastro pub. Best in the area

I ordered the fish and chips and was disappointed. The fish tasted strange, like it may have been old, and the batter was greasy. The mushy peas were hard and inedible, but the chips were great. I informed the friendly staff about the issues, but no discount was given. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. It's a shame because this used to be our favorite lunch spot.

"The pasta dishes here are exceptional, prepared by passionate chefs who truly value the food and its heritage. We sampled three different pasta dishes between the two of us, and each one surpassed the previous in flavor and quality. "I live locally and this restaurant used to have a good reputation, I wish I had checked the reviews on TripAdvisor before booking this time!! We ate here on the 17 March. The King prawn starter is served in the same sauce as the grilled...octopus main, but the menu states they are different sauces but they weren't, maybe they couldn't be bothered that night! The monkfish pieces' is served with mashed potato but not stated on menu and it would appear nearly all seafood dishes are served like this. Why? The Tirimasu had visible mould on it!! Disgusting! The creme brulee was rock hard all through. I will not eat here again."

"Booked a table for a birthday meal, and was over the moon with the evening. The Dukes allowed us to use decorations free of charge and even helped set up a little table for presents and cakes! The food was just right, and the customer service throughout the night was top notch plenty of smiles enjoyable conversation. A massive thank you to Andy and the team on shift for a fantastic evening!"

"THE FOOD IS REHEATED AND NOT FRESH! I ordered the hare of the dog the full English breakfast , both the SAUSAGE, which was burnt black, and BACON, turned orange and dried out, had been reheated and were at least a COUPLE OF DAYS OLD. I explained to the waitress when she collected the plates how to tell the food had been reheated on both these items. When we paid, the waitress had checked with the kitchen AND CONFIRMED YES THE FOOD IS NOT FRESH and they REHEAT FOOD they 'd cooked days before. We were then told it wouldn 't make sense for a business to cook these fresh otherwise it would take 45mins for the breakfasts ??? . Come on it ' doesn 't take that long to cook these items, especially not bacon. I was surprised to hear a justification on what 's best for their business rather than customer focus or not misleading customers. Maybe change the menu to say 'days old reheated sausage and reheated dried out bacon ' just to be clear. We still paid in full but they should have at the very least offered a discount or to cook fresh."

"I am disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. When I made a reservation for a party of 16, I requested to be seated in the conservatory area to avoid feeling cramped. Despite reassurances, we were instead seated at the back of the restaurant. The service was slow, with drinks and starters taking over an hour to arrive. We waited another hour for our mains, and had to constantly remind the staff about our forgotten drinks. The food did not live up to expectations and did not resemble the pictures online. Although the restaurant did take a few items off the bill, we left feeling disappointed and do not plan on returning."
