"We visited last night for a family birthday. Been before, but not for a while. Four adults and one pre-teen with very specific likes and dislikes! The choice of food was amazing. Specials boards, saver menu, fish, steak, pasta...... It's all there. I had the mushrooms with a cheesy tomato sauce to start, which was gorgeous, and then the fish curry half and half. The chips were gorgeous, and the curry was out of this, world! My husband couldn't make it, so I asked if I could order a takeaway for him. The waitress said that most things could be packed to take away, so I ordered him a chicken curry half and half. Everyone's meals arrived together, and our waitress was attentive but not overly so. We were allowed to eat our meals at our own pace without feeling rushed. My stepdad has dementia, so can take ages to choose and then to eat, but again, we weren't rushed. All agreed the meals were lovely. Nobody could manage dessert, although there were, again, many choices. Our waitress brought out my husband's curry when we asked for the bill, and it was piping hot and well packed. All in all, a hugely enjoyable evening was had by all xx"

Amazing. Food is always spot on. Venue great. Menu doesn’t alter but it’s good quality. Been going here YEARS and never had a bad meal. You can’t fault it. Prices good wine great lovely atmosphere. Best pub for miles. Occasionally call into bar for a drink and it’s great. Voir le carte

Went here with my son lunchtime. He had steak and I had curry. Don't think the same chef is here since I came here two years ago. My curry was very bland with frozen chips and my rice hadn't been drained of water . Popadom was dripping in oil so only ate about four mouthfuls. Don't thin we'll go here again not what it used to be. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

This place is unrivalled for excellent pub grub in terms of quality of food,quality of surroundings and quality of staff with value for money across the menu. The specials menu inparticular are a great option for those on a budget without feeling youre on a budget! The desserts are superb and not just an afterthought like lots of places and theyre ALWAYS open,none of this sorry the kitchens closed til tonight nonsense.
