We were desperate for a dessert after we received a very terrible service from the chilworth arms for dinner. We rang the four horseshoes to book a table for desserts and we were welcomed with open arms.

Came here Alone whilst away for work and what a lovely pub! the food was lovely and not too bad for price considering the portion size and how nice it was. The feel of the place was also very nice with an open fire and nice bar. Would definitely recommend. The staff were also very nice will definitely be visiting again if I am ever in the area! This restaurant ruined our 38th wedding anniversary. We had noted on the reservation that it was an anniversary dinner, but after waiting 30 minutes for our starters to arrive, we were told they were prioritizing clearing a large table. They offered us glasses of wine on the house to make up for the delay, but after another 45 minutes passed with still no food on our table, my husband had to complain to the head waitress in order to finally get our starters. By that point, we had lost our appetites and decided not to wait any longer for our mains. We ended up leaving the restaurant without having a proper meal.

We visited with friends our mini dachshund, early evening. It was surprisingly busy but were seated quickly, next to a lovely couple and their cute dog. The pups quickly made friends, which was brilliant. The menu had so many lovely dishes it was hard to choose! We shared some of the nibbles to start olives, bread, squid, whitebait scampi all delicious! Mains were sea bass, duck steaks, all beautifully presented tasty. Unfortunately, no room for desserts although they sounded very tempting. Will definitely be back, maybe swap starters for desserts next time.
