"The area and the pub are absolutely beautiful, and when we arrived the staff were great. The room was very nice but you could hear every conversation from the bar below as if the person was in our room with us! So not as peaceful as advertised! Whilst my food was alright- not as nice as i expected-several other diners walked out because service was appalling. And on waking this morning, we had no electricity or water in our room! When I went to find help there were NO staff to be found, I walked around the whole pub- kitchen included. Even rang the number on the website (no answer) Eventually found 1 agency staff who had only started the day before so didn't have a clue what was going on either! Would not recommend."

Not as good as last visit and now appears to have ceased trading . Noticed that smoke detectors were covered with a rubber glove?

We only stopped by for some drinks and were greeted warmly. They have a great selection of beers. The food looked delicious, so we will definitely be returning to try it out! The restaurant is also dog-friendly, which is a plus.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a rustic charm that sets it apart from typical gastro pubs. The menu is simple but well-planned. The rump steaks were some of the best I've ever had. Excellent selection of pale ale. The service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place. Voir le carte

I enjoyed a fantastic lunch at this restaurant, with pan-fried hake and a perfectly roasted scallop served in its shell. The skin-on chips were delicious and paired well with a pint of Atlantic Brewery red ale. I dined outside, but the interior looked clean and well-maintained. It was a refreshing change from the usual pub fare often found in the area, though a bit on the pricier side.

Disappointing starters fine my friends had the chicken which was tough and swimming in a tasteless sauce. My husband and I had the shared sirloin which in our opinion was over priced half of it was fat.The vegetables where very nice though. On entry it was very smoky think you need more air conditioning.Overall very disappointed as it came highly recommended but sorry we will not be back.

I ended up at the Dartmoor Inn by chance and truly enjoyed my stay and dining experience. The steak that I had here is one of the finest, healthiest, and most delicious I’ve ever had. The staff were professional, attentive to fine-detail, and friendly. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. There were plenty of exploration hikes across the street from the hotel and miles down the road. I highly recommend that you definitely stop to eat at the Dartmoor Inn, stay the night, and explore its beautiful surroundings. Voir le carte

Food cooked to order but took half an hour after coming off the fire to be delivered to the table. Total waiting time slightly over an hour and no explanation as to the delay. (4 burgers and one sole. The restaurant was quite empty and no one at the outside eating areas when we arrived. When the food did arrive it was barely warm, and the triple cooked chips were quite soft. £18 for a burger and chips. One person had sole which was quite dry and full of bones. Won’t be going again. Think MacDonalds would have done better at a fraction of the cost.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
