"We popped into the Ring O Bells on a very sleepy and quiet Sunday afternoon. It's a charming old world pub in the heart of Chagford. They had a very limited Sunday menu which was fine as we were just looking for sandwiches and chips to keep us going. Friendly staff soon had our order and we sat in the bar and relaxed. Our food came in good order and it was all tasty and filling, exceptionally large bowl of chips!"

Old style pub with charm, it has a secret garden, not so secret now! The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is traditional, l had a Ploughman's ham and cheese. Dog friendly treats were provided. Service: 5 Location: 5

Took our three children for dinner and were really pleased to find a lovely, thriving local pub atmosphere on a Thursday night, buzzing with custom, probably because of the good value for money on food drinks, friendly and helpful staff and relaxed feel, would definitely recommend. Dog-friendly, vegan option was delicious and children well catered for on the kids menu.

Popped in for a quick drink whilst in the area. Hardly anything in stock for my wife to drink (all shelves empty) . Customer with dog allowed it to pee on carpet in the middle of pub which was mopped up with beer towel. Evening staff came in and was greeted by staff on duty with Welcome to hell Not a good experience. Shame lovely looking pub in quaint village with lovely friendly people

"I have been coming to this pub for many years as I used to be local however not since the big renovation. The update has been done respectfully to the area with keeping the cosy village pub we all love. With that said it still feels modern and chic thus pleasing all. We were served by the very polite and attentive Sarah. Lovely smile and gave great eye contact, fast serving and all round wonderful customer service. Definitely an asset to the business. The building is easily accessible with an electric wheelchair (apart from the original cobbled short path to the front door) and is dog friendly. I had hoisin belly pork with beansprout salad and my guest had the French onion soup. Both were outstanding. To drink we had pot of local tea and pint of Korev which is a Cornish lager and really smooth drink. We will definitely be returning! Well done team!"

"Food drinks: I took the wife for birthday lunch, the restaurant was not available (which I knew about beforehand) so we ate in their conservatory as it was raining outside. We ate of the lunch menu, the food was superb,throughout my cheese soufflé was fantastic, light,tasty and freshly baked(worth the 20 minutes wait we were advised of). We both had the steak, quite simply one of the beat steaks I have eaten, really melted in the mouth. The dessert was creme brulee, again superb taste and presentation. The service throughout was superb, Marek was attentive, polite and he never felt like anything was too much,when we needed something. For a special occasion I recommend a visit, it really will be worth it."

"The walk from the Mill End Hotel to Fingle along the river is really lovely. Most parts are easy to navigate, although there are a few steep sections that require careful footing. The views are stunning, and there are fantastic spots for wild swimming. We spent an hour at Fingle. There are parking options available when driving, as well as a large field on the opposite side of the bridge, which is perfect for a picnic."

"I have been before and it was good but this time it was a complete let down, I am vegan and they assured me they could cater for me but my sandwiches (which were part of my cream tea)were four tiny squares of bread containing a slice of cucumber in two of them, three slices of radish in one and a couple of sprigs of rocket in the other. I am sure they must have forgotten and quickly made these. In today’s world it is easy to get vegan cheeses etc so I am really disappointed and doubt I will bother going again which is a shame as it is a lovely place it’s just a shame the food doesn’t come up to the same standard."

"We recently celebrated our third visit to the beautiful Bovey Castle and are already planning to have lunch in the brasserie for our first night. The food was delicious and the staff were simply wonderful. I especially enjoyed the food presentation, as it made me even more excited to eat. The price we paid for dinner was well worth it. We were so happy with our stay that we will definitely be returning for dinner. Our meal was enjoyable and we are grateful for making our celebration unforgettable. We will definitely be back again."
