"Simply the best roast dinner of my life Everything was so superlative I had to force myself not to eat fast. Each individual item on the plate was the best of its kind I have ever had. Before you think I am a friend of the restaurant owners I am visiting from England and went with friends : Met at the door by a lovely gent who sat us and took our drinks order. Served by others who were non Intrusive and only interested in making our meal an excellent experience. I cannot explain how amazing the roast was. The meat was perfection, the honey flavoured veg was divine. The potatoes were unlike any I have ever had. Now the “Skirlie” I have neither seen nor eaten before. What a treat!! It was like the chef wanted to show off and this was his opus. Simply brilliant from start to finish. I am positive I will never have a better roast dinner Amazing work to all involved Thank you. "We visit this restaurant regularly and believe it is the top Indian restaurant in Aberdeenshire. The food, service, and atmosphere are outstanding. We typically dine here for dinner, with prices ranging from £60 to £70 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5 out of 5. There is plenty of parking available, with free parking in the parking lot."

"However, the fries were disappointing—some were very dark and even burnt, clearly overcooked—and the onion rings were very bland. As others have mentioned, the small amount of sauce you get for £4.95 is quite ridiculous! The desserts were mostly decent, although I ordered a tarte tatin and what I received was just a dry slice of apple on a piece of dry puff pastry. The atmosphere in the restaurant was not great either. While the staff was polite, they seemed lacking in enthusiasm and were just going through the motions. We've visited Porterhouse several times in the past and used to enjoy it, but we feel the quality of food and overall value has declined significantly. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be returning."

"After a slight wait to be acknowledged by the staff, we were eventually seated by a very nice lady. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. We ordered our meals and were asked to pay immediately by our unfriendly server. When we questioned this, we were told it was how our waitress preferred to do things. We paid and then waited and waited. Only two out of the three meals arrived, and when we inquired about the missing meal, we were told that this was not bad. We had to ask for cutlery from a neighboring table as none was provided. The order was incorrect and the meals had lost some temperature by the time the missing one arrived. We ordered hot drinks and were surprised that we did not have to pay upfront, but this was due to a different waitress. The lukewarm food prevented us from forming an opinion on the taste. Although we did not complain, we noted to avoid this place in the future. If meeting with friends, we sometimes have to go with the flow. I may give this place another chance, but I will not be recommending it anytime soon."

"Attended a family get together here . Very pleasant decor and surroundings and pleasant staff. Our party chose a variety of meals from the quite limited menu too much seafood fish! I had Camembert which was absolutely lovely and cooked to perfection . However ,my second course was “ crispy chicken with a chilli sauce “ and I was bitterly disappointed with it . Chicken was soggy nothing “ crispy “ about it .Sauce was quite pleasant very sweet and sticky as honey based and I was glad I had asked for it on the side as a little went a long way. The rice was fine , but could have been hotter but the “ chips “ I wouldn’t class as chips at all . They were more potato wedges , and again soggy and not at all crispy nor hot enough. Very disappointed with main course. I didn’t have a dessert but the others did and they looked lovely and most were pleased with them ."
