"Would have given zero stars had that been possible. Booked well in advance. Kept waiting with three other couples for a good 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Shown to our table to find a party of guests still eating/drinking. Went to another table to find cleaning products and dirty cloth on table. The gentleman at the door was absolutely out of his depth and had little or no management training. Door notice said they were accepting only bookings, everyone else turned away due to lack of staff. If there was only limited staff on that evening why did no-one think to cancel bookings/rebook customers for another time. Staff completely overwhelmed and stressed. This place needs strong management and leadership. It really is a complete shambles. GIVE IT A MISS.Needless to say our party of four walked out in disgust."

Booking was easy. On arrival, shown straight to our table. Given time to look at the menus, but then easily ordered, and food delivered quickly. Very happy with the Main Course. And then the Pudding and Coffee. Bill easily paid. Thank you.

Lovely place, staff are superb, very keen to please. I wish I could say that the food was absolutely first class, but to be nitpicky, time was when you got a good helping of it. Seems that since Covid/C.O.L. portions appear to be a bit meagre. Food was delicious, but a bit more next time please

The food was delightful, and I really don’t understand the complaints I’ve seen. I have no issues, especially considering the price! Additionally, our server Jasmine was fantastic and went above and beyond for us. If you’re looking for a great place to eat without breaking the bank, this is the spot to choose. Otherwise, if you're just going to complain, I suggest you find another restaurant. Voir le carte

The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We made a reservation for a table with our dogs and were pleasantly surprised to be seated at a spacious table! The food was delicious, and we didn't have to wait long for it to be served. The only downside is that dogs aren't allowed in the carpeted areas of the restaurant, which is different from many other places in the North Norfolk region. Otherwise, we would have rated our experience a perfect 10/10!

Food nice. But the idea of us ordering our food and drinks at the bar and pay as you go is not what we want. We are regulars and we like to give the waitresses our orders at the table and have contact with them too. We feel that the service overall is slow and the limited staff that are on cant manage especially if big parties are in. Not having a go at the staff as they do their best. They need a Manager supporting them out front and not in the kitchen . Overall the evening was Ok.

When the food did arrive, there was an extra portion of chips that I hadn't ordered, but I ended up being charged for it. The waitress, who mentioned she was new, said she couldn't help with the issue, and it wasn't her fault for not taking my order correctly. I ordered a “club sandwich,” but it was dry and of poor quality—there was no sauce, no tomato, just dry, overcooked bacon, dry lettuce, and dry toast. My grandchildren hardly touched their meals; the food was very subpar. I'm extremely disappointed and feel like I wasted my money. I have photographs for reference if needed. Voir le carte

The only reason I have given it a 3 star review is because we had over an hour and a half wait for our main meals. The poor staff were run off their feet as they were short staffed, doing their best. We didn’t want to complain but when after an hour we were seeing people come in and getting their food and then going whilst we were waiting made us have a chat with the staff. The staff were fantastic and I am understanding of the situation so I would like you to pass on our thanks for them doing their best. Our suggestion would be when staff shortages occur maybe close an area for food or have a maximum head count per hour. Thank you though, it has not put us off coming again

We booked a table for 5 for the last night of our holiday. When we arrived we were told that someone else was sat at our table and will this one do? . The small amount of staff were very busy and struggled to cope with the amount of customers. This is a problem for the owners and not the staff. After waiting 45 minutes we asked about our main course and it then appeared after 5 minutes. The food was OK ish, the pie pastry was hard and the Hunters chicken was dry. We then had a very long wait for desserts. The ice-cream was liquid as though it had been on the plate for quite a while and forgot about. To top it all we were told that the coffee machine had broken so we went back to our accommod...

"Decided to try the Crown in Fakenham as they do a Carvery on a Sunday, but what swayed us even more to go there was they allow dogs and there is a Dog Menu. We did phone a couple of days before to make sure we would get a table, which was in the bar because we were taking our dog. On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming and showed us to our table. We ordered drinks non alcoholic for me and a coke for the wife, and ordered and paid for our Carvery at the same time. Our dog had a Carvery too he could choose between Beef or Turkey, he had the Turkey with roast spuds, veg and Yorkshire pudding obviously no gravy. I went to the restaurant to get our meals, today's meat choice were Beef, Gammon, Turkey and Pork with Crackling very nice too. I decided that we would have a bit of every meat and it was cooked to perfection. Then you moved along the counter there were roast spuds, roast Parsnips, stuffing balls, big Yorkshire puddings, Cauliflower Cheese. Moving further along were the veg, Peas, Broccoli, Carrots, Red Cabbage, Sweet Corn and French Beans. Obviously there was Gravy and all the Condiments that accompany the Meats. To be honest our plates were big but they couldn't cope with the amount of food piled on them. The food was very nice and hot everything was cooked very well and really tasty and the prices were very reasonable Adult Carvery £12.95 and the Dog Carvery was £3.95 which came in a big dog bowl full to the top. If we are still in the area next week we will be booking again, highly recommend The Crown's Sunday Carvery."
