Great food, ice atmosphere and fabulous service from Alice. Made to feel very welcome and attentive staff. Good food selection too!

We had a really great lunch here, and friendly helpful service from Alice our waitress who was good with a couple of allergies. It was nice not to be hurried out. Good value and nice food. Thanks

Miranda provided exceptional service and the setting was very pleasant. The meal was delicious and the drinks were great. The service was quick, but unfortunately, I was too full to try any dessert.

My friends and I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, especially the cheesecake pudding. The outdoor seating area was very nice and our server, Eleanor, was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back again.

The food at this restaurant was a bit hit or miss; for example, we ordered two lamb dishes and one was mostly fat while the other was all meat. There was a good variety of options on the menu. The pub was busy and the service was lacking, with one woman doing most of the work and appearing overwhelmed. However, the restaurant is dog-friendly, which is a nice touch. Voir le carte

This restaurant has lost its quality !! Second meal I have sent back !!! The meat part was nearly all fat and had a portion of COLD petters and pineapple on the side of a hot meal with sauce ???? The waitress said it was a 'summer mix ' but was awful on a hot meal and totally pointless. The second meal I sent back had hair baked into the potato portion ! Not impressed, as we used to have lovely meals there. I cannot rate the current chef at all. Gone downhill in my opinion, and the menu has not changed much in the last 3 years. Shame, as it is our local restaurant.

We visited the old forge on Wednesday 6/9/23 in the evening. Sadly the quality of the food was very poor. Two starters and two main courses. Starters, salt and pepper squid and chilli prawns. Chilli prawns were awful. Tasteless and four small prawns with a dolmio style cheap sauce poured over. Main courses, Blade Beef and Duck Stir Fry. Beef was over cooked and the mash potato was cold. Stir Fry wasn’t much better either. Duck over cooked and the stir fry sauce was possibly straight out of a jar. The staffing levels are a concern. Looked like only four members of staff covering the whole operation. There was one member of staff struggling covering all the tables. Finally the pub itself looks...

We’ve eaten at the Old Forge several times, as it’s a halfway point for several members of our family and a senior relative is in a care home nearby. There’s lots of parking space and plenty of seating inside and outside. It’s dog friendly too, which is always a bonus! The food is truly delicious and there’s a good choice for all diets including vegetarian and vegan. The menu is broad enough to find something you fancy, whether it’s a small bite or a main meal. The only reason I’ve given it 4 instead of 5 is that the service while prompt and efficient isn’t very friendly. You’re made to feel as though you’re a mild inconvenience rather than a welcome guest, and yet not so much that they’re a... Voir le carte
