"The food was delicious, the flavours, textures and portions were perfect. I had the duck to start (run don't walk), the pork main (WOW) and the apple and treacle tart to finish. My partner and I both had the pork belly which was melt in the mouth good, the combination of flavours from the pumpkin, butternut squash and the sauce were heavenly. The service was exceptional, Olivia and Emily were friendly and checked in on us enough to know we were being looked after without intruding on our meal. It's a small restaurant (approx 7 tables), the atmosphere was the perfect blend of busy but not crowded, with compliments to the chef floating in the air. We'll definitely be booking in advance (you have to) the next time we come to Whitby. "I have gone past this place on travel to whitby in 2017 and had never had the time to visit: but today I have managed to! late the day and near the time they closed the kitchen, I had expected a warm greeting: but after a relaxing cuppa and watching 'friends' on the telly, I ordered a 'all breakfast'... a beautiful meal was perfect. (although next time I exchanged my black pudding for drilling. I don't know when I'm back, but I'm back."

"Salad was very tired and wilted and needed to be replaced with fresh crisp salad leaves Bread was not fresh and was breaking up as we tried to eat our panini The filling was not what we are used to as when the previous owners were there the beckaninis were bursting at the seams We would have liked to finish on a nice slice of cake but the selection was minimal and sparse to say the least Not a single table check to enquire whether the food was ok and we were happy with our selection The dragon sausage was quite tangy and not what we’re used to Veggie bowl options on the menu but no bowl option for meat eaters Also far too many dogs allowed in at the same time in a relatively small space Quite disappointed to say the least and definitely crossed off the list for the future"

"The service was mostly good and quick but it felt as though too many tables are crammed in to the space. We ordered the Prosecco platters that were advertised on the website (even though we were not given the menu on the table for this but were told it was ok to order off the website). The food was ok but the wrong sides were brought out and at that point it had become busier and it was difficult to get the attention of staff so we just ate what we had. I felt more could have been added to the platters as they all felt a bit the same and one of the ones we wanted wasn’t available. What did really annoy me however was when we came to pay. They charged us more than advertised for the platters and when I queried this was told ‘it’s gone up, we must have not got round to changing it on the website yet’ which I felt was a very poor way to do business. I commented that wasnt fair and just was met with a stroppy shrug from the member of staff. I would not visit here again."

"My wife and I love Harry’s for the cocktails, but more recently have dined here too. We’ve now visited or times (possibly more) and have thoroughly enjoyed every visit. We love Whitby for various reasons but always have an evening in Harry’s as part of each trip. Food on the two occasions we have dined was delicious, and cocktails are always fantastic. But the service, we find, is faultless. The effort and care put into making the drinks, plus the jolly table service, is second to none in our opinion. If we really tried to be critical, our last visit we found a bit noisy in the bar during the late evening while chatting with friends (it’s a bar though and you need to be careful how many of the lovely cocktails you have as the bill quickly racks up! But the quality we find worth it."
