The Green Yard Cafe

Staff were very friendly, mocha was piping hot which is very rare nowadays. The full English was plentyful and delicious. Would definitely recommend and visit again when in the area. Thank you!

We are alway made very welcome at what has become our Tuesday treat. The food is always first class and there is a good choice. All very clean and served by happy staff makes our day, thanks to their care

speedy service excellent food. Owner very chatty with us returning customers. We had the vegetable tart, new potatoes, salad coleslaw and a jacket potato with cheese and ham. Great coffee also. All the cakes looked great too Voir le carte

Stopped here for lunch en route south, and were really impressed by friendly staff and delicious food. Coastal cheddar and coleslaw doorstep sarnies and excellent coffee. Highly recommended. The elephant in the room mural is inspired.

Having read the reviews we decided to visit, and were not disappointed. Despite it being a Tuesday the place was packed and having had lunch we understand why. The chicken, bacon avocado salad was delicious, the service incredibly friendly…..even the washing up was tuneful!! We’ll be back often.

We always pop into the Green Yard Cafe when we are in Bridport, Dorset, they are very welcoming, very dog friendly, our Greyhound just lies down and has a kip , never feel rushed. We had lovely toasted teacakes, with tea a day coffee, which was delicious and a very reasonable price. Looking forward to the next vist to Bridport, for 'gert lush ' food and drink Voir le carte

There was nothing to make this establishment stand out from the crowd. Reviews and ratings suggested it would be wonderful. I can’t see it. I had an ordinary Full English Breakfast with over cooked bacon and mushrooms. The portions were average. The best thing was the Black pudding (often excluded these days) although again it was a bit over cooked. It must be me because I can’t see what all the fuss is about with this Slightly cramped Café. It’s fine but nothing more and to me not worth the elevated ratings.

We were in Bridport for the excellent Saturday market and looked out for the Green Yard café (recommended here on TA). This was an excellent experience. The café is very popular we were lucky to find one of the last 2 tables at 12 noon and we saw many people arrive and have to go away disappointed. Not for the future by 1pm tables were becoming available again. There is an interesting menu including breakfast and lunch options. My wife chose mushrooms on sourdough toast and I had smashed avacado and poached egg on toast. Both absolutely delicious. there were several other options which we would have loved to try, so we will have to return. The staff were very friendly and helpful and service...

I am so glad I finally managed to visit the Green Yard. I am normally in Bridport too early to come here (they open at 9am) but today I was a bit later. After this experience I am wishing I had stayed in bed a bit longer before all my other trips to Bridport! It is slightly off the beaten track, tucked up a side road from the main street but worth hunting down you will not be disapointed. I had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and a 'cup ' of tea. You might think scrambled eggs are easy enough to do but so many places overcook them. Not here though; they were beautifully cooked, fresh and hot, slightly soft and a good sized portion too.
