"This restaurant is our neighborhood favorite. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming to families and dogs. They have a good selection of drinks. The food has been a bit hit or miss for us. We loved the desserts, but the main dishes were more inconsistent. The sausage and mash was delicious, but it lacked vegetables. My partner had a seafood dish that she thought was off and couldn't eat. I don't eat fish, so I can't comment on that. The owners are open to feedback and seem dedicated to improving the restaurant. Overall, we believe it has a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing it continue to improve. It's off to a strong start!"

"The food was excellent, but the service was alarmingly slow. We even had to inquire about the arrival of our main courses. The landlord kindly offered to comp our second round of drinks as an apology, but it still felt like we had been overlooked. The venue itself is charming, featuring friendly staff and lovely historic elements of the mill. It’s just unfortunate that the service detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience. "We only discovered this fantastic restaurant thanks to a tradesman at the holiday complex we were staying at. Located on a side street in the village of Tideford, it is not well signposted. But now that the word is spreading, make sure you visit and sample the freshest and most delicious seafood you can imagine. Upon arrival, my wife and I were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The friendly bar staff quickly took our drink orders. The menu, offering seafood, meats, and vegetarian options, may not be extensive, but the quality of the dishes is superb based on our experience. Following a recommendation from another guest, I tried the seafood gumbo. This smoky, soup-like dish was packed with king prawns, crab, lobster, and haddock, accompanied by a slice of rustic bread. My wife ordered the haddock and chips, which she found to be the best fish she had ever tasted. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Tideford to discover this charming and welcoming pub is a must. You will not be disappointed by this hidden gem of a place with its old-world charm."

"I do not recommend this place. Before submitting this review, I gave them a chance to react for our bad experience. I`ve sent few emails to them, messaged on Facebook. They messaged me back that will come back to me as soon as possible, however...it never happened. I am sending them emails since 21.08.22. 1.Before arriving and paying for our booking I was asking the hotel over the phone where our room is going to be located and if there is a sea view. Our room had more “pub view” and little bit of sea view. It was loud after 11pm, drunk people talking and laughing loudly, we came there to relax and were told over the phone that there is not loud. If I knew that it is like it is, I would not book this hotel!!! This was a lie. We could not sleep before these people stopped shouting!!!! 2. The room should be clean (as was in the description), that is why we choose 4-star places (according to the booking.com), however there was a lot of dust as well as the fan, which was completely covered by dust!!! There was not air conditioning in the room, and we should have had a proper fan, however this was unusable. 3. On a breakfast We were toasting the bread, and just before I took a bite spotted that the bread was mouldy. We have asked a lady and she did bring supposedly the fresh one. We could have a food poisoning because of that. I will report it to the ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) and show them more pictures, for example the moulded bread. 4. Most of the times I work from home. I thought that wifi is a standard in the 21st century. Free wifi was included in your advertisement as an amentity. I had to do few important things for work from the hotel and I could not because also there was not a signal for my phone internet as what has service lady said? “Welcome to Cornwall”. 5. Dogs are welcome at this hotel. We took a small yorkie, however We didn`t expect that many dogs in that place. Barking, running everywhere, all over the restaurant, having dogs` hair on a table is too much... If you want to spend a nice time, please avoid this place."

"This place made us, as non-locals, feel unwelcome. We had read reviews and arrived looking forward to fresh locally caught seafood. The gumbo was sold out, by 5pm. That’s fine. I then opted to have scallops but discovered they only offered frozen chips as an accompaniment! They had some fresh new potatoes for locals, non-locals had to have frozen chips. Nowhere should ever serve frozen chips with fresh scallops. It’s sacrilegious. Decided to leave. It made us feel discriminated against."
