"We haven't eaten at the Bell Inn for some time. However, as we were passing we popped in with no table reservation. Asked for a table for two and we were quickly seated. The staff are friendly and attentive. The Menu has changed since we...were last in and has reduced in options considerably however, there is probably something for everyone. Two for one is still available on main courses and as a bonus they do Blue Light discount, you can't complain about that. We ordered two 10oz rump steaks served with chips, onion rings, peas and a mushroom. You can order sauces for your steaks if you wish. The steaks were nicely cooked, overall not a bad meal. We were too full for desert."

Two of were happy with our meals but the third said the quality of his beef burger was poor. It didn’t look good. My scampi were fine as was the chicken tikka. We all had puds and my apple pie and custard hit the mark....Staff are friendly and helpful. Quiet night so we just walked in.

after the last minute of another place, the team of the bell saved the evening for a 60th birthday party. they quickly accommodated our big party in the winter garden and were attentive with eating and drink service while also the family. enjoy the evening. special thanks to mark for sorting this all in the last minute, will visit again!

The manager or what seemed to be was very polite and helpful as was the young lady that was working, we both had the mega mixed grill and it was cooked to perfection (cheers to the chef) our eyes are bigger than our bellies needless...to say the dogs getting a goodie bag. Would recommend this place to anyone…Thankyou again for a brilliant service

excellent service, we were greeted at the door of tamara, which was our table and was our server. she was very kind and prestige that we had everything we needed. I was really impressed by eating it was delicious and most of it. all the size of the portions! we visited a few months back and we are very disappointed about the service, food quality and portion size. but after our last visit we will definitely be back, service quality was definitiw 5* worthy!

Haven’t been here in years so thought we would give it a try on a Saturday lunchtime, we had pre booked a family of 4 for 1.15. We arrived at 1.17 greeted by a very friendly front of house lady and shown to our table,...everywhere looked spotless clean. All table service no waiting and always service with a smile. The children had fabulous meals and excellent value for money. The mains are 2 for 1 and well I would of happily paid full price for both of them the steak was cooked to perfection and the gammon was delicious. I can highly recommend this eatery and we will be returning.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
