"We had passed the restruant many times but never entered. As a venue it has little to recommend it a mismatch of decor, seeting and service. Seemingly local trade also eyes it with some suspicion as we were the only patrons. I did like the cloth napkins though! We shared a starter of Finocchia which we had never had. I'm not sure that what appeared was authentic. Does Finocchi come on a plate with nothing to accompany it? Their interpretation of Finocchia is a plate of thinly sliced, day old greasy salami. The main course. I had Braised Pork a gelatenous blob of fatty brown gloop with fried polenta, eadible but not a happy marriage of tastes. My partner had smoked Haddock with spinage again an odd mix. The sweet course was the most strange. Tinned Rhubarb when rubarb is in season! a spoonful of creme fresh and a thin slice of slightly gingery cake possibly the only thing not purchaed from the nearby Co op. And all this for the princely sum of £70+ Needless to say we will not be returning."

Very high quality cooking in a family owned Dorset restaurant. Presentation of the food and the service were excellent.

Really fantastic restaurant, the food was excellent as was the service...can't wait to go back! The wine was reasonably priced too!

I particularly like that this restaurant changes its menu daily. Too many stick with the same old offerings for too long. I appreciate the effort it entails; it shows a real interest in what they are doing. Comfortably quirky and charmingly staffed, I will definitely return. The food is imaginative without overdoing the fashionable ingredients and styles of the moment.

This was our second trip to Brassica and it lived up to the first. We had a delicious lunch, the set menu is great value but we were also tempted by dishes off the main menu. Once again we had friendly service and really tasty food. The decor and ambience makes this a lovely place for lunch or dinner. Sadly we don’t live nearby but will definitely book in again when we’re back in the area.

Apparently this restaurant is in the Michelin Guide...god knows why!!! We opted for the daily specials menu and chose x2 course for £20. The beef pasta stew was so bad. Firstly, the chef had run-out of the specified pasta. All that was served was cheap mincemeat and al dente pasta swimming in a watery sauce...yuk. The desert was a warm sliced peach on a bed on Creme fresh and crumbed biscuit. Definitely not worth £20 a discretionary 10% service charge..I don't think so! Will not return in a hurray!

A pleasantly decorated restaurant, quite informal and I would suggest the dress code is smart casual. The food sadly was not up to expectations, a very strange mix of ingredients, such as lentils on lettuce leaves and my starter was sliced tomatoes which were tasteless, covered in a creamy dressing topped with a greasy crumb mix. For mains my husband had smoked trout served on a wedge of toast with salad leaves, the portion was small for a mains and I had orricchetti with crab, of which there was very little crab and it was in a very oily sauce. For what we had we thought it was expensive and will not be returning.

Brassica was recommended and I know it’s been mentioned recently in the paper as the place to go, so we thought we would splurge and try it as we love med cooking. The menu is limited and I didn’t fancy much from the starters so just ordered the focaccia with aioli. The bread was nice but the aioli lacked flavour. My husband ordered the anchovies, at £9 you expect more than a few tiny fillets that look like they were just from the tin. The main course we chose was steak frites, again at £36 a plate I expected more. The steak lacked flavour but the chips were nice. The carafe of red wine (first one on the menu) was very nice, as were the cold rice pudding and brownie sundae for dessert. The a...

Our recent visit to Brassica for my 40th birthday and anniversary celebration was truly unforgettable. This gem of a restaurant exceeded our expectations with its exquisite food, exceptional service, and elegant ambiance. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and whisked away to our beautifully set table. The menu offered a tantalising array of creative dishes, making it difficult to choose. However, our attentive server provided excellent recommendations to suit our tastes. The food was divine, from the mouth-watering appetisers to the perfectly cooked main courses. Each dish showcased a brilliant balance of flavors, textures, and presentation. To top it all off, we were treated to a delightf...
