This place never fails to deliver. Helen, Jess and the team have got this nailed. The place is relaxing and comfortable. The food is fabulous and the service excellent. There is always a warm welcome at The Hoose.

What an amazing experience fabulous food and a great menu lovely surroundings and very warm welcome we were so well looked after. The restaurant at House O'Hill Hotel is an absolute gem and we will certainly return soon.

Very busy when we visited so slow service. But compensated by very friendly staff and extensive menu. My beef joint was tough but tasty. My wife's flander was delicious. A good place for an informal pub meal with a difference. Very limited parking, so get...there early.

Visited here whilst on holiday following seeing a recommendation on FB dog friendly places to eat in Dumfries and Galloway. Food and service was brilliant. We were able to reserve a table in the beer garden which was great as we had our dog and...my husband doesn't feel comfortable eating inside. Three days later and my husband is still raving about the Thai chicken curry he had, it was the best he has ever tasted!

booked meals for people. oct only a steak and they can only have medium rare. Okay, if you like blood. ask for chicken curry, only chip shop curry sauce. roast beef on Sunday evening was raw and I couldn't cut. it with a steak knife. they have returned an evening meal. if they like eating on places like weatherspoons, they will be disappointed by this eating. this pub was taken over as it is a nice place when they avoid eating. the personal is very preaded.

we always book in advance for a meal in the house o’hill during a stay on glentrool camping and they never disappointed. always welcome! visited on september. I had to start the bruschetta and some had the garnel, delicious. for our head we had...Steak of the day and pie of the day, both really delicious and would order again, even the torte hit me! so full that we could not fit pudding in! many thanks to the cook and the staff for a pleasant evening. heidi

The two of us went out to the House o Hill last night, and sat in an apparently new area outside, called the wee neuk. Totally charming. We chose the same dishes as , from what we had seen on other diners plates, looked .....mmmm,...good! We started with langoustines and then had the rib of beef. We chose well , it was a treat to eat out again. Cooked to perfection. Beautiful cheese board which we shared. This is a true find, a cute quirky place , lovely, friendly staff, delicious wine why do you think we ate outside! prices very fair......and will try to get there again before we return home. We just had the most incredible vegan lunch at House O'Hill Hotel, I can't recommend it enough if you are ever visiting this area!! The chef recently turned vegan and it was probably one of the best vegan meals I have ever had, so many...out of the ordinary options and the staff were so accommodating and happy to have vegan customers. We had blackbean and quinoa meatballs with coconut curry sauce and rice as well as spicy bbq cauliflower wings to start, followed by battered banana blossom, chips and peas with homemade vegan tartar sauce, seitan cheese burger with onion rings and our wee one had wild garlic and cashew pasta with vegan parmesan. we visited on Thursday afternoon/night. they are currently closed in the early part of the week. we were aware of the pressures on pubs and restaurants that were booked so in advance for eating. we were on the campsite on the road and arrived early for. a few drinks before dinner. we were immediately told that they had little personal due to the disease. I must say that every single employee did their best to keep everyone happy and to judge the positive comments in our entire environment, has done a good job for everyone. our eating was fantastic- good portions and really delicious (Venison Caserole and Ente) I would recommend to everyone to eat here (veggies and vegans have great options),...
