"Ate here twice recently, both evenings were enjoyable with a lovely ambience and good service. The food was a bit mixed with most dishes being enjoyable but a few disappointments. The first visit a friend particularly requested the eggs with the gammon to be served runny, nope, they were not rock hard but close. On the second visit I chose the Thai Chicken and Vegetable Curry with sticky rice. Weirdly the chicken was served on the side, not in the sauce and was dry. The sticky rice could have been used as glue, it was one big lump. Such a shame as the sauce was delicious, although not enough of it. Both evenings certain dishes were unavailable. On the first visit we were not told until after we'd ordered, the second time the information came when the server brought the menus, much better. Overall we had two good evenings but with a few tweaks they could have been perfect."

had a walk along the canal and popped in for dinner on the 30th September what a lovely place got talking to a local couple and they were nice staff are lovely thanks David and Tara who made us feel welcome we will return Steve and Michele From Bedfordshire

Dinner at the Otter last night was lovely, as always. Thanks Roz for always looking after us. We know everything will be perfect if we are in your section. Such an asset to this restaurant and seems to work around the clock. Hope they are looking after you Roz.

Booked a meal for my husband’s 70th, looked after from the moment we walked in until we left. Party of 8 including one child. Starters and mains plus one child’s meal. All served piping hot with plentiful portions. Shout out to Dani our waitress, nothing too much trouble, great value, great service so we will be returning. THANK YOU

3of us met for lunch yesterday 2of my friends were not happy with their meals. Lasagne cooked too much new potatoes hard not cooked enough! Had to order at the bar not good having to stand when you’re of an age) but worst a of all it was cold no heating on. There was a fire lit but not giving out much heat. I have been going to the tame otter for years but my friends said they won’t go back

Prebooked tl go Sunday 5pm. Arrived and had to wait for our table to be vacated. Not a problem. Shown to table given menus. Wasn’t told of anything not being available. 4 of us decided then went to order. 3 not available. 2 bring the trio of meat but you could gave them as individual meals. That didn’t make sense! Anyway relooked at menu and placed order. Took forever for food to arrive. Was ok but not the usual high quality it was in the past. Again desert time. Again menu give not told of what wasn’t available. Sane thing 2 not available. Wanted mini cake latte. They had run out of milk !!!! Re choose. Used to love this place and 10 minute walk. I’d rather go Red Lion or Fox. Won’t be rush...
