"We went to this pub as I had past it a while ago, as it was very close to our marina at Dunchurch, so had it in mind, we had gone to another local pub being impressed by its menu only after a long wait they completely changed its menu to pizza and kebabs. When we arrived at the Rose we had lovely welcome by I presume the owner so we immediately felts a good feeling, we had not booked and they were able to offer us a table straight away, the décor and ambiance was excellent and relaxing with lovely soft music, very good menu so I ordered the Sirloin steak my wife had the burger it came to us in good time, mine had mushrooms tomato and chips and a cheese sauce spread across the steak it was delicious and so was my wife burger which was close to an inch chick, I had 3 scoops of ice cream for dessert my wife was full so decline the dessert. I was so impressed that I congratulated the chef when we left as being one of the top three steaks I have ever tasted when on a narrowboat holidays on par with the Globe on the Ashby canal and the Tom o the Wood at Hatton. I highly recommend this pub there is a beautiful garden. The pub is suitable for wheelchair users, but I could not see disabled toilets. I must also mention the young female waitress in her very friendly and professional way she served us, the steak was £21.95 and burger £12,95 and worth it, I Thankyou we will be back"

A lovely meal in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. I had the venison (have to admit never had it before) it was gorgeous, cooked to perfection, pink, tasty, melt in the mouth the baked potato, cut as a hassle back was great. The sauce yum! The service prompt and friendly, thank you and well done for a lovely country pub it’s a delight!

Traditional pub, Woodburner and a very friendly welcome. King prawns are propper king prawns, some of the best I've eaten. All food was presented excellent and tasted just as good as it looked. It was quiet, which is a real shame, I just think people haven't discovered it yet. I can and will highly recommend, we will return for sure. Voir le carte

I find it a huge challenge to find somewhere to eat safely as I am a coeliac and rely on the competence of the restaurant kitchen my choices are usually very limited! Not here though- I had a fantastic choice on the menu for all courses and had my first battered fish with chips for many years. The whole party really enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere. We recommend the pork belly and the sticky toffee pudding and need to go back soon to try other options. Thank you to the team at the Rose Inn for a lovely evening and accommodating our mad cocker spaniel post surgery too.

I could tell when I rang for a reservation for Sunday Lunch that there was going to be a warm welcome. I was not wrong. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and when we had a visit by the Chef over a query that my friend made, I have to say that made her day, and what an unusual and pleasant gesture by him. He could have sent a message (which is what most Chefs would have done) The Beef Sunday Roast was just wonderful, The beef was to die for and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. My friend said that her English River Trout was a delight. All in all a great Sunday Lunch. We hope to be back. Thankyou

We were googling somewhere nice for Sunday lunch and saw the reviews for The Rose Inn. We rang to book a table and were greeted with a very friendly gentleman and had the same warm welcome when we arrived. The pub is lovely and cosy with a log fire and the staff were very attentive. We had the Sunday lunch which was delicious and good size portions. The prices range from £13.00 for chicken to £17.00 for beef. The choice of puddings was good and I had the vegan cheesecake. The owners came and chatted with us but were not intrusive. It is nice to see people who actually seem to enjoy serving customers. Will definitely go back. Looking forward to visiting again with our dog in the summer as the... Voir le carte

myself and my husband thought we'd give the Rose a try as i drive past each day going to and from work and it's had good reviews on tripadvisor. We got a warm welcome on arrival and it's a lovely pub inside. the Chef (owner) chatted to us for a bit, lovely gentleman plus the lady behind the bar who owns it also. there was a younger lady who waited on us too There were lots of yummy choices on the menu so we went for the prawns and bubble and squeak to start along with some olives. All the dishes were 10/10! for main i had the duck and my husband had the burger. Both again very good. The sauce with the duck did drown out the flavour of the duck but it was all beautifully cooked. For dessert i...

This is a gorgeous thatched roofed pub, decor inside is calm cosy and romantic the owners and staff are very friendly cheerful and totally professional and the food is out standing. "Visited this place for the first time last night and have to say the service was really really poor from the second we walked through the door. Our table was booked for 7.45pm we didn’t get seated till 8.20pm and when the young girl seated us there was no apologies for waiting and she came across very blunt..the soup starter was lovely but the bread was a let down it was like cake and the bread with that brown sauce on ruins the bread it tasted pretty nasty,my friend liked the bread but said that the sauce ruined it. The bread to me just wasn’t very nice I make home made bread myself and this was pretty poor it tasted nothing like homemade bread. For the main I had a medium rare steak the steak was very raw inside you may aswell have just gave me a cow mooing and only the sides had been touched it was cold in the middle!! and warm on the outside (I ate it as I was so hungry I had been working all day and came straight home dressed and out again) but it had not been cooked properly to how I like it, I felt funny after eating the steak. The service was really poor one lad said to us “have you finished with that” nearly everybody spoke so lazy there was no professionalism. There was only one person who stood out as I overheard him serve another table and he was very welcoming and professional he was wearing all black and was also working on the bar he had dark blond ish hair and spoke gentle,I hope your paying him well because his manners etc is impeccable and he was very polite to us when he served us upstairs at the bar."
