"I've been to the Red Lion many times since Jake and Lindsay and took over, and have not been disappointed once. The draught beer is cold every time and they have plenty of options. They had a few oktoberfest beers that were really good. It was exciting to have a bigger selection for that time. The food is well- prepared, cooked, and served. The soup is always piping hot, but not too hot! Their tagliatelle dish is to die for. I've even given a chance to some of their vegetarian options although I'm not vegetarian myself and they were delicious! The menu has options for everyone, even the kiddos, without being over or underwhelming. Dessert is a must at this pub! Their sticky toffee pudding MELTS in your mouth. The staff are always warm and welcoming and ready to accommodate. The wait staff are friendly and keep themselves available to customers throughout their meals. The bar staff are friendly and entertaining. I usually show go alone but having someone to chat to whilst I drink my pint is a treat! I will go back time and time again! Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: The vegan mushroom burger is a MUST for anyone who enjoys a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. It is breaded and cooked to perfection! I myself am not a fan of mushrooms but I ate that burger and thoroughly enjoyed it ! Kid-friendliness: The pub welcomes kids of all ages! Out back of the pub is a beer garden that hosts a lovely play area for children and plenty of space to run in the grass. They've included kid size meals on the menu and keep their fruit shoots stocked! I highly recommend visiting this wonderful pub! The new owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I had a great time enjoying a few drinks in the large beer garden. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. Overall, I give this place a perfect score of 5 in all categories.

What a gem of a find for a Sunday roast, lovely carvery lots of choice recommend the pork with crackling was mouth watering veg spot on too... didn't book a table but found a table in bar area there's fair bit of room for walk ins. This is the best pub in the area!! The new owners Jake and Lindsay are the kindest people I have ever met. The drinks are perfect and the atmosphere is one you won’t want to ever leave!! There is an AMAZING garden that is pet friendly and it is beautiful. Don’t miss out on this pub!! "We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
