"**Walkability:** We were staying at the Caravan Motorhome site, which is just a 15-minute walk to the pub. **Food and Drinks:** We first visited after arriving at the caravan site on Wednesday, and the food was fantastic. We had plenty to eat, including the crown burger and Cajun chicken, and enjoyed several pints of Theakston’s best along with a bottle of Merlot. We returned on Friday for my wife's birthday dinner and were not disappointed; the pan-fried pork medallions and lamb shoulder were both superb, complemented by great beer and wine. **Service:** 5/5 **Location:** 4/5"

I didn't stay or dine here, but I did enjoy a few beers. The staff were friendly and conversational. Overall, I would rate the service a 4 and the location a 4 as well. Voir le carte

Visited for Sunday Roast. Unfortunately was near end of service and chicken and beef had sold out, however everyone enjoyed the pork. Generous portions and nice traditional pub atmosphere. Only slight negative is food was over salty.

They have Old Peculiar on tap and a great Yorkshire pudding! Highly recommend stopping by after a hike through the dales. The front patio is the most obvious seating choice but there is a beer garden out back that is away from the noise and bustle of the main road. Service: 4 Location: 5

We live nearby and always come to The Crown as our local over the other Hawes pubs. Tonight we took some burgers home to eat and not only was it quicker and so yummy than other takeaways locally but the OP was particularly delicious. Thanks guys, see you again soon! Arrived at the Crown with my friends l was busy looking at the specials board when the landlord approached me with a rather loud tone and said we have finished serving food, l replied we are not here for food. This was at 13.40 l was fine with this until another custocame in at 14.00 and ordered soup and sandwiches at the bar. Service: 1

Really impressed. Friendly, welcoming staff in a cosy, rustic dining area. Good selection of wines and soft drinks. Food was delicious. We went for dinner and got a table, no problem. We had yummy fish and chips and a particularly tasty chicken ceasar salad. Will definitely return if we're visiting here this part of Yorkshire again. Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly, Great value

"We arrived soaking wet during a heavy rainfall and after I enquired regarding the availability of a table was answered by a petite dark haired woman (a member of staff who needs customer focused training), who informed me in an extremely curt and abrupt manner that, “if you notice I am about to clear and clean that table.” I hadn’t noticed and as she didn’t have any cleaning materials in her hand at the time was rather confused, up but we waited patiently whilst she eventually cleared and cleaned. Later the same member of staff came to take our order, again in a curt manner. When she returned with an incorrect order her reaction was that it was our fault that she had confused the order and she flounced off without a word of apology. Another member of staff delivered our tea cakes and then our coffees arrived and were again delivered by the original member of staff with what I can only describe as a reluctant and irritated manner. Maybe we were treated like this as the norm for that particular member of staff, maybe she had an ‘off day’ or was it because we were ignorant southerners who did not understand the ordering/paying system? Why the original member of staff bothers to work in the cafe is bizarre if she dislikes visitors and/or waiting at table? Maybe a job working behind the scenes would be more suitable for her? Whatever the reason for her manner it left a nasty taste in our mouths!"
