"Went for lunch today and what a disappointment. When we arrived the whole place was empty, this had me worried as a busy restaurant is always a good sign of happy customers. We asked for the roast lunch menu and were promptly told the roast meats were just Gammon and Beef. We both ordered the beef, what a mistake, it was so tough we both had a job to eat it. The vegetables were pretty average as well. I paid the bill on my bank card on the way out, not really paying enough attention as I swiped my card. We had stopped at the local M S on the way home when my wife asked me how much the meal was. When I told her it was £43.10 she thought it didn't sound right for two roast lunches and two small lagers. I went back to the restaurant and explained the problem was promptly given £5.60 refund. The young female staff are obviously not concentrating on their job. It used to be a really good restaurant for roast lunches, not any more, avoid it."

Beautiful breakfast and good portion sizes! Ellie was our helper today and she was professional, polite and helpful with our requests. Definitely recommend and would go back.

Great looking pub and really decent food. Dog friendly. I had a gammon steak and it could have been a little better. But service was good and it was dog friendly. Would definitely go back.

Excellent fish chips and great service, we had the smaller portion and it was plentiful. So nice to be able to choose a smaller portion, not just because of the price, but the food waste too. Would definitely recommend, can sit in or outside Voir le carte

We were a party of eight with two dogs and were here to celebrate a birthday and had a great time. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, the food was great and catered for my many allergies without any fuss. I would highly recommend a visit here and will be returning on our next holiday to Ashbourne.

Bar was empty downstairs waited for about 10 minutes until a customer told you had to go upstairs to another bar!! Should have been a sign downstairs to tell potential customers that is what you had to do. Girl was very apologetic but the other three clowns sitting upstairs made you feel very unwelcome Saw at three other couples come in look around and walk out
