"We were staying in Ulrome and this was the nearest pub so decided to give it a try. We were glad we did.Our first visit was for Sunday 'lunch '. Although we arrived in the evening they still had both beef and pork available. Most of us decided to have beef and when it arrived there was plenty on the plate. Everything tasted great with a good sized yorkshire. We all enjoyed our meal and decided to return for Wednesday curry night. There 's a choice of four different curries and three different meats or veg. I had the Balti and the others had the Butter Chicken along with poppadoms and naans. It was all very tasty with just the right amount of spice. There was also a Board ale on that night which was excellent. The only issue we had was the fact we had dogs and there is very limited seating inside if your eating. Only two tables of two. You can take dogs into the bar, but can 't eat there.Other than that we throughly enjoyed our visits and would be happy to return if we 're staying nearby again."

Booked a table last minute so pleased there was a free table. Tables were spotless and well spaced, staff very friendly and efficient. We weren’t very hungry so ordered a starter each- pate and toast and deep fried breaded Brie. Also enjoyed a Thatchers Gold each. The food was very well presented and very enjoyable, likewise the Lemon Meringue Roulade.Be more than happy to call in again when we are back in the area.Definitely worth a visit

Sunday evening dinner was half fresh half frozen, cheap bark meat, was more like a sworn steak that they made of island, frozen veg, frozen roasts, hey, but real carrots, personal polite, thin man, who runs around reminds me of the Spanish waiter in erroneous towers. we sat down and he asked if we had booked, we said no, he hesitated then, said ok I can fit them, 7 tables were empty then when we were there 7 empty, anyway I would give him a 7/10.

we were staying at skipsea Holiday Park just round the corner and the food wasn't the best. So tried last minute here and weren't disappointed! They managed to book in 6 of us at the last minute and were so friendly and helpful. One way system with hand sanitisers on entrance. Food was beautiful and they were very accommodating with my picky teenager! The lady who served us was lovely and couldn't do enough for us, we felt so welcome. Lovely atmosphere, great food and spacious parking round the back :D Will defo come back if we are in the area again.

We booked a table for 2 with our dog last minute. Luckily they accommodated us. One way in one way out sanitizer on hand which is now standard. Booked in by a lovely lady who was very customer friendly. Social distance with the tables. We were shown to our table which was in the corridor of the pub because we had a dig with us which was fine. The food we received was lovely. I had a prawn cocktail for starters and beef and ale pie with chips gravy which was on the lighter menu. Yummy. We were staying at Skipsea Sands. Can't recommend this pub enough. See you next year!! Big thank you to all the staff.

What a wonderful experience! We pre-booked by email the week before and got a very fast and polite response. We were greeted on arrival and then were asked to sanitise always a good sign. Then showed to a very nice table by a sunny window. Tables were all nicely distanced and we were provided with disposable menus and a very nice waitress took our drinks orders. Our meals followed, I had beef and hubby had pork, all came with lovely fresh vegetables. I have to say that the cauliflower cheese was one of the best I have ever had! Huge home made yorkies and very tender meat. Gravy was amazing also. The restaurant was immaculate and at the same time very homely and comfortable. We will definitel...

Some of the reviews for the Board Inn are ridiculous! Don't listen to them.We booked a table for 2 for 5pm. Plenty of parking. The lovely lady on the host stand went to see where we were seated. The restaurant is beautiful and rustic. The guy on the bar and who was looking after the restaurant on his own was amazing! Very welcoming. Took our drink orders: diet coke and a pint of ruddles. Safe to say he knows how to pull a pint. We ordered steak and ale pie and new york chicken. They were so nice. Compliments to the chef! We managed to squeeze in pudding. Sponge pudding with ice cream and salted caramel sundae. Huge portions and so tasty! Was shocked when the bill came. Was expecting to pay a...

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
