The food is excellent, the service is exceptional and friendly, and the atmosphere is beautiful. It's clear that the chef knows their craft.

We were looking to have lunch with our family while traveling from the USA, as they had traveled from Asia back home. We had limited time and wanted to enjoy a nice atmosphere together.

Just returned from a fabulous meal sat outside at the Black Lion. My posh finger sandwich was delicious, as were my sons and husbands meals. The women’s toilets were spotless! We will definitely be back! Voir le carte

This restaurant is situated in the quaint village of Firbeck, which may be a bit off the beaten path. However, Firbeck is the kind of peaceful rural escape that people often pass through on their way to bigger destinations.

great service and nice eating in this pub, full of character in a beautiful village environment. the pub has a cozy atmosphere, is dog-friendly and has a seating area in the open. unfortunately there are currently no disabled toilets that are disappointing

if only all village pubs could maintain these stellar standards - the black lion is a real model of independent local publicity! I had the pork fillet on wild mushroom risotto and was really impressed- delicious! with a beautiful pint of peroni (which was on very good shape)! all served a smile by very friendly and attentive staff. I'm back!

This is a truly beautiful country pub and one of four establishments in the Harper Inns chain. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, providing excellent service. The food is well-prepared and reasonably priced. The steak and ale pie is particularly noteworthy, as are the specials that change regularly. The light bites and sandwiches are creative and delicious.

Lovely Olde Worlde comfortable restaurant and pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They have a extensive menu and a daily specials menu. The food is excellent, we 'll prepared and presented. The cost of food and drinks are medium to highly priced, but we 'll worth it.
