Shame that the venue is so loud that you feel like you have early on set Parkinson's (stage two no less)

great service, great seats and great location a must visit when in the area and the staff are amazing too

A smashing local pub, like the music afternoons the best. Selection of real ale, would prefer more stouts and porters but realise I'm in a minority. Voir le carte

Called Bank Holiday Monday evening looking for food, completely different approach to the pub round the corner, the lady on the bar went to check that the chef could still do something, absolutely no problem at all. Food was good bar food, just what was expected.

Sunday lunch for a Birthday celebrations. 15 meals all perfectly Serviced pipping hot and excellent service by all. Highly recceommended. Beef, Yorkshire pud. Stuffing. Plenty of veg n gravy was superb. Beef Pie chunky chips and lovely gravy excellent . Scampi n chips. Two kids meals. Well worth a visit

We arrived just as the kitchen was about to close but the staff were more than accommodating welcoming us as a family of 4 with 2 dogs. We both had hot roast sandwiches which were delicious, so much roast beef in tasty gravy. The kids meals were great too. Good size portions and reasonable priced. We will definitely be returning. Surprisingly lively for early on a Saturday evening. Mainly diners but some drinkers as well. Good friendly service and quick as plenty of staff. Table (for 5) quickly available (in the bar) and typical pub grub served within 10 minutes or so. 3 hand pulled beers available although 2 were very similar blondes. Car park a bit small for the popularity of the pub but street parking appeared to be acceptable as well. Really is worth a visit.

at the arrival we were very well looked after by gina, she was simply a wonderful host and could not be blamed for how hospitable and attentive she was here on the black horse during our dining room experience. the food was of good quality, tasty and plentiful. our only aftermath of our visit was mike, the barman who was less attentive or polite while he served. in many places he tried to catch his attention, he came over very uncoupled and very steadfast with his attitude. except that we had a wonderful time and would visit again in the future.

we had booked a table for 7 people on Monday evening in this popular pub in the village wigginton. Unfortunately there were 9 of us, but the beautiful front of the house staff, mike gina, has our extra guests without fuss, despite the pub really busy. mike explained that there would be a slight delay in the food, as there was only one cook working on this evening. we appreciate his honesty, but the delay was very low and when the food arrived, it was hot, tasty and plentiful. mike, gina and matte, the cook, worked really hard all night and were pleasant, efficient and helpful.
