"This lovely pub has had many ups and downs in the last five years, spending many of them closed, COVID and brewery to blame. Finally it is being run as a pub pub and not some up it's own bottom restaurant type place. The pool table has returned, there's a jukebox, and fruit machines. The staff are friendly and work hard. The menu is on the basic side, which I personally don't have a problem with, after all it's a pub not a restaurant, and given the size of the kitchen they do a grand job. Meals are well presented and it's good grub reasonably priced. They now have a good selection of beers, cider etc. and not the usual tat. A very nice location along side the Leeds Liverpool canal, ideal for walkers, cyclists, and boaters alike. Large fenced beer garden ideal for families. Dogs welcome. Good luck to Michelle and the team you deserve it."

Nice location next to a canal with friendly staff, with a car park and a park accross the road.

We didn't eat but it was really busy and everyone we chatted to had nothing but good things to say about it. We will definitely return. Voir le carte

Really lovely traditional little pub right on the canal to start walks from, Good amount of seating and swift service at the bar for food and drink ordering. Loaded fries were well presented and a great lighter bite

We'd been on a lovely walk in the area and decided to pop in to see if they had a table free, we took the last table, ordered our food and drinks at the bar, the food was lovely, as were the staff and the atmosphere was great too, also dog friendly.. We'll def call again when in the area

Was so disappointed yesterday when I stopped on my walk for a quick bite to eat ordered some chips and a pint. Genuinely could not eat the chips either re heated or just bury and dry and tasteless. Was expecting a lot more. Maybe good for a drink and atmosphere but food must be shocking if you can’t serve up a decent bowl of chips Voir le carte

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN THERE As i approached the bar to order a drink a big huge brown dog attempted to bite my face off !!! I have severe PTSD and the owner of the dog, the customers and even the bar staff thought this was hilarious, luckily it wasnt a child otherwise it could of been nasty... i will never being going back there... im a dog lover but this scared me and brought on an episode to which i had to take more medication that day ... thanks woman behind the bar someone nearly having their face chewed off is funny is it ??

If you can get in to the place it 's a lovely local pub...However, this place really needs to get a grip of when it is actually open and when it 's not! can fully appreciate this is a family business but either change your opening hours to 'flexible ' or actually open when you say you 're open. Now on the third time after being in the area, the last time on a walk, when was thinking of stopping in after 3pm to be told it can 't be opened until 4 pm, previous time was due to a delivery. Sorry not good enough. Either open at 3pm, as advertised, or, again, say otherwise, you 're losing business because of this.

"This is by far the worst meal out experience I’ve had in my life which has driven me to leave this review as soon as we left sitting in my car. They took other people’s orders before ours and totally forgot us, waitress was getting frustrated at us when we asked questions to do with the menu (also didn’t make eye contact but just huffed and puffed, they brought us a number of wrong dishes that they later changed and my sons dish happened to be wrong that I realised halfway through him eating it. Steve (their waiter and a very nice man) acknowledged it was wrong and said it would be knocked off the bill, the man at the bar along with the female waitress who took our order proceeded to literally shout at me because we notified them about that dish at the end. To start with, she said it was right until she checked with the kitchen, but still she wouldn’t apologise. Never have I felt that disrespected and verbal aggression towards be by restaurant workers. Even 2 other tables next to us told my wife that the service had been terrible. And just to top it off, mine and my wife’s dishes had no flavour whatsoever! Avoid this place, it’s expensive and you’d get a better meal and service at your local takeaway. Photo is the dish they tried to tell us was ‘house hot spicy chicken wings’, when Steve (their nice waiter) clearly told us that it was their ‘house Cantonese wings’! I know Chinese, and this dish was clearly Cantonese sauce!"
