Had the steak and ale pie, the crust was rock hard and when trying to cut it it shattered. I don't know where the steak was I found 2 bits of gristle with veins and tubes in. Def no meat. Disappointed. Voir le carte

Christmas Dinner was very mediocre, vegetables undercooked, turkey overcooked. Manager accused tge wife of trying to sneak out without paying (we paid in full 2 weeks ago) thankfully I had already left to take an elderly relative home or I might not have been so polite after his attitude. Our journey to the Sandpiper on a rainy day involved a bit of confusion as we navigated down the dual carriageway. Thankfully, it was late and not too busy. Once we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming pub atmosphere, and the staff were exceptional. Despite the soggy start, it turned out to be a pleasant and memorable visit. After a short walk from Ferriby, we decided to go for Sunday lunch here. We were served quickly. The food arrived shortly after and was beautifully presented and hot. It was good to see fresh vegetables and homemade yorkshire puddings, as opposed to frozen. Also fresh herbs in the gravy. I chose the vegetarian Sunday lunch, which was delicious. The meat Sunday lunch was plentiful, with four good slices of roast turkey. We took advantage of the 30% off main meals offer. The man who served us, who was possibly the manager was very attentive and helpful. All in all a pleasant visit. Highly recommended. We will be going back soon to try something else from the menu.

The food was lovely when it eventually arrived. To start there was 3 starters missing which was a miss read from kitchen and management that came to tell us we ordered extra. Mains were all fantastic even with the extras we had ordered. We waited 1 hour for our deserts before we said something to which we then again received 3 less then was ordered. This was all pre ordered boxing day menu food. What made it even worse was when we went to pay the bill there was no management at all. No apologies was made at all and the management just disappeared even though I sat for 5 minutes so I could explain why I wasn't happy and what I recommend he needed to do to solve the problem.
