"My Daughter who `s a teacher in Germany booked for us again we have been here in the summer and this time the winter special of Duck, their signature dish was on.... What can I say It was maybe the best meal of my Just so good ... I returned days later for a repeat with my wife and son in law he had the Veal steak which I nicked a bit of,it was tasty .the duck is served with a choice of potato or bread dumplings quite big like a large grapefruit size these are a skill to make I preferred the Bread one my wife the Potato both I coated with wonderful gravy and an apple baked and on top of red cabbage. this was washed down with beer and wine by others pudding was the Kaisersmame and plumes and sour cream cherries if you share this dessert you will argue over the last bit beaware its that good crisp and dunked in the plums....Yum,,, as you can see from my pic I enjoyed working on disguising my six pack... Signora Beatrice runs what must be Darmstadt`s hidden gem of a restaurant well worth the short walk out from the centre...As that other Austrian Arnie said i`ll be back (next vist to my daughter for sure)"

friendly service, good wines, superb kitchen, especially austrian desserts...in November and December you get those dramatic good goose foods.

Was hwere in Winter, so could not enjoy the garden. The food was just averade, had not the taste I know from Austria. Internal staff communication was rough.

We had a party here but it was not so Chrismassy as other places. I recommend it for people who want to avoid Christmas. Service okay and fairly pricy. Food good quality.

We ate here in a week it is quite simply an amazing well run family run restaurant. The of us had diffrent dishes on each visit, they were all tasty The Tafelspitz reminded me of my Grandmothers cooking (cooked to perfection and tasty)...the K`s.. desert is just so good I had this with the plums its like crispy dough and sugar... I recommend and will return as my daughter lives in Darmstadt its well worth seeking out this wonderful place.

My boyfriend lived in Austria so he was anxious to check out this restaurant. He selected an excellent Blaufrankisch (red wine) from Mittelburgenland to accompany his Zwiebelrostbraten (steak with onions), which he enjoyed. I ordered the sole with rice and broccoli, which was delicious. The...server was friendly and attentive and the patio setting was beautiful but the bf felt the experience could have been a bit more authentic if the owners made some minor changes in keeping with true Austrian dining. I was craving for a wiener schnitzel and googled it and found Linzer Stube. It took me a mins walk to get there from the city center. Not much to see from the outside, but it is a very cozy neighborhood restaurant. Great wine...and excellent food and a very friendly waiter/owner. I came alone but ended up talking with my people at neighbor table for two hours, learned a lot about Germany and Darmstadt. A fantastic evening. Not a cheap restaurant, not a fancy modern restaurant but woah for an atmosphere and great food.

I´ve been here several times; in winter where you are cuddled up in the fairly small restaurant, but also in summer in the welcoming shady patio with vines growing over your head. The Austrian boss and his wife are always cheerful and ready to answer...questions or have a small chat while serving, whereas their son( does delicious and fresh cooking in a tiny kitchen. This somewhat hidden restaurant doesn´t look very promising from the outside but is well worth a visit. Portions are fairly big, even the side salads. Traditional Austrian food (Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarren) are just as delicious as seasonal dishes (chanterelle, asparagus). Food is also served pretty quickly but you are never rush...
