If we had reliable solid personnel, we would continue as before; Unfortunately, we have not. Other gastronomics expand from one to two or even three, due to the shortage of staff, the number of their rest days per week, others open only in the evening and thus do without the lunch business. These are not options for us; we go another way and hope that our guests will keep our loyalty even after the transition, even if they have to pick up their own food at the counter. We will have to reduce the offer of food, but everything we offer will be freshly cooked and also in the usual quality. You can only wish the Pitittus a warm luck for the new business idea and the noble snack, which we also like to do. And of course, we will visit him, alone, to see how everything has become. Especially since a snack on the city border of Saarbrücken (150m further), France has to offer something very special to attract customers; for the Dogana as a Ristorante, the location question was rather insignificant. Food and drink: Today my wife FvD was; she therefore also drank only a alcohol-free Erdinger wheat from the bottle (EUR 0.5l 4.20 and later an Aperol splash (EUR 0.25). I drank as a starter a Limoncello for EUR 4,00, a small Pils (0,25l EUR 2,50 , product of a brewery whose name I will not mention here, and for food a glass of Cirò bianco (0,25l EUR 6,00 . Beer and wine not worth mentioning, but the Limoncello was fine. For dinner, my heart favourite as an appetizer ordered beef carpaccio (EUR 14,00 . I almost forgot the kitchen tomb: a large overcrowded champignon with a beard garlic pesto. Very successful; unfortunately her champignon had fallen down from the plate to the ground. I was allowed to clog the mushroom; She didn't eat him anymore; . I wanted to share my copy as if St.Martin left to the legend according to his coat and her half, more than a small snack, but she didn't want the rest of my pesto. Of course, I also got a tasty snack of her beef carpacchio covered with the finest olive oil; if she was really excited about her appetizer, I would have preferred a Vitello Tonnato at this point. The Risotto himself has praised her, but probably not read the menu so thoroughly, because both the presence of the Gamberi and the zucchini on ihem plate surprised her. Which, according to Signora Pitittu, would not have been a problem, would have known the kitchen. Adesso; the zucchini remained largely, while the Gamberi landed on my plate except for a few exceptions. Right. The dessert for Signora Simba was homemade Cassata with Maraschino Likör (EUR 8.50 . Two beautiful tranches and in the Cassata many candied fruits; Up! Italia should take an example of the number of candid fruits found; I would have liked to have had a Zuppa Stracciatella, a Zuppa Pavese or Mille Fanti as an appetizer, but the only soup available in the Dogana is the tomato soup, and that's what I'm trying to avoid. Hohe Erwartung! Beim Eintritt ins Restaurant wurden wir von der Bedienung (Mutter) forsch aufgefordert die Hände zu desinfizieren. Am Tisch angekommen bestellten wir (zu viert) drei Weizen und eine Flasche Wasser, was die Bedienung(Mutter) bereits überforderte. Die Bestellung der Speisen mit dem Sohn waren sehr amusant und bereiteten wieder die erhoffte Gemütlichkeit. Die Speisen an sich waren qualitativ sehr gut, von der Quantität jedoch für einen „Esser“ durchschnittlich (dies soll aber keine Kritik sein). Beim Anfragen der Nachspeisekarte wurden wir (wieder von der Mutter) forsch angefahren, doch bitte nicht zu viel auf einmal zu fordern. Diese Rezension soll keinesfalls eine Entscheidung...

"I was already a guest at the Gusto at the Saarbrücker Toto House and very satisfied. For some time now there has been the “Gusto on the market” in the heart of the city, St. Johann’s market. Today we came to five. Originally designed only as an annex to the Gusto on the Saarufer, the small restaurant – as I learned from the owner – is now the main house and the restaurant on the Saarufer is closed. Ambiente The “Gusto” is located on the corner of Fröschengasse Saarstrasse only about 30m from the St. Johanner Markt. The modern stylish furnishings, a mix of American steakhouse and Spanish tapasbar, inspires a warm Mediterranean atmosphere. If you sit directly in the entrance area of the restaurant, you can observe the passing “old city visitors” and the driving in the alleys by space-high sprout windows. The restaurant is friendly and light-flooded, more comfortable and more cozy in the rear part of the “Gusto” you reach through a hose-like passage. 4 star service We were operated by a male service: friendly, attentive and competent. Of course, I asked all sorts of questions about the food, especially the steak, the “failure sign” of the small restaurant. We found that the head of the house also appeared several times at the table, vaccinated and proudly gave information about the origin and preparation of the dishes. Here you take time for the guest; this is what you like. The foods and beverages were very flotted, in between it was always asked if everything was right and if we had any wishes. I like to review the service with 5 stars. Food The steakhouse offers a rich range of tapas and antipasti, salads, salmon gambas exquisite meat rarities, especially proud of the “Dry Aged Beef”; this US Black Angus Steak has to “dry” in a special refrigerator for at least 4 weeks and thus gets its distinctive extraordinary taste. But also the other steaks from Black Angus are not to be despised and so much already look in advance for their equal in Saarbrücken and the surrounding area. My choice was a US Black Angus Steak (vacuum ripened) 300gr for 28,80 € with BBQ Dipp and Bratkartoffeln as well as a small salad at 3,40 € My four companions had tomato chili soup at 4,80 € US Black Angus Steak 300gr for 28,80 € with homemade herbal butter and roast potatoes Gusto Burger with Pommes at 12,80 € All ingredients were of 1a quality, well selected and absolutely fresh. The preparation of the dishes can be called a perfect craftsmanship. My well-hanged (wet aged) Steak was an approx. 5 6cm thick splendor of meat, a true pale man's maus, very finely massaged and wonderfully aromatic, masterfully prepared, sharply roasted on both sides on the lava grill perfectly and accurately spot medium, it was extremely lean, wonderfully juicy and very delicate in the bite. There's nothing to stand out. The homemade BBQ Dipp, not too fiery and not too lazy, the roasted potatoes, well selected small potatoes, cut into columns and roasted with the peel crispy pink. The side salad, mixed with zucchini slices fried in olive oil, olives, radishes, tomatoes, various leaf sores, crunchy fresh and with fresh herbs on top, was refined with a delicious parsley dressing. Conclusion: 100% recommended. Not exactly cheap, but worth every cent. For steak friends in Saarbrücken a must, but also a long way worth it"
