"goods from 4 to 5 August 2021 there. On our tour we had booked 7 hotels in several countries via booking.com. The Old Post in Oberammergau was the only one to reserve an amount on our card. Apparently the hotelier misses his guests. When we arrived at the reception, she was unoccupied. Then a hotel employee came, stopped us first and took off the phone that had just started ringing and let us wait until the conversation was over. Also not very customer-friendly. Pros: The food was good."

I was brought here by my tour. It's nothing special. Just another German restaurant. You can do better.

We stayed at the hotel for the night. In the evening we had supper and the next morning we had breakfast there. The supper was very good and consisted of Pork Roast, Dumplings, Red Cabbage, and dessert of fruit and whipped cream. Breakfast was a buffet and we found plenty to fortify us for the activities of the day.

This restaurant was mentioned in writing first more than 700 years ago as the "Old Tavern". Nowadays it´s a typical Bavarian village tavern which is owned by the landlord´s family for almost 100 years. Good regional food, good size portions and really cheap. Friedly service. Old style rooms inside, small biergarten outside next to the church.

We stopped here for dinner tonight, drawn by the white asparagus soup (spargelrahmsuppe). And it was fantastic. I had a salad and a local dark beer, my wife pork in dark beer sauce with a potato dumpling and red cabbage. The food was good, as was the location. We had a little trouble getting service when we were ready to leave, but that's not uncommon: generally, people want to sit and in Germany (unlike the US), they're not eager to push you out to make room for another fare.

"Interesting that I would have to come all the way to Oberammagau to find great Mexican food in Germany. The Germans don't do spicy very well; schnitzel and bratwurst yes, spicy no. So I was skeptical when my wife wanted to go try El Puente because she wanted Mexican food. We've been to two places in Stuttgart, and both of them ranged from bad to on par with Taco Bell. The first thing that strikes you is the atmosphere. Very lively, great music (ranging from Tejano to other styles of Mexican music which I am unfamiliar with), and the decor is very interesting. I wouldn't say authentic, as authentic places in Mexico don't quite have their walls festooned with cattle skulls, serapes, and sombreros, it's understandable that they have to set the mood, given that the Alps are just around the corner. The food was great, well above what I expected. I had the Chili con Carne, and while this is usually a throwaway dish on the menu, I would say this should be a go-to menu item for anyone wanting a little spice in their life. Not overpowering spice, but it's enough to let you know that it's there. The fresh baked bread to dip into the Chili con Carne was also a great touch. My wife had the chicken enchiladas, which had a lot of flavor, the tortillas tasted very fresh, and the chicken was very tender. Overall, another place to put down in our books of regular places we will go when we are in Oberammagau (see my s'Wirsthaus review for another place)."
