Awful meal! Do not recommend! Steak was rubbish and the kids burger was cooked pink!!! Honestly if you are a family I’d definitely avoid! Also no one came over once food had been served to ask how the meals were etc service was not great!

The service and food was excellent from start to finish. The steak was perfectly cooked...compliments to the chef. We would definitely recommend this place for somewhere too eat and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be eating here again

Visited mid week at lunch time. Varied menu, lovely specials. Shown to table, very friendly lady. Orders taken promptly. Starters all lovely, prawn cocktail, calamari and pate. Mains of steak burger and two steaks well cooked. Chips are amazing. God value for money. Attentive staff. Voir le carte

My brother, who was staying with me, I went out to this pub for a relaxing lunch. This was my 3rd visit (previous 2 with friends). Excellent, tasty food at very good prices. All freshly cooked and exceptionally speedy service. Varied menu and vegan and gluten free options. Friendly atmosphere and welcoming ambience. A lovely lunch that didn't break the bank.

We had a lovely meal here on a Friday evening. We chose the fishcakes off the special board, which came with new potatoes and salad. The fishcakes were delicious. We had ice cream for dessert, there were lots of lovely puddings to chose from. The service was very good, staff very friendly and attentive. We had a lovely meal, the decor in the restaurant was lovely and they have a nice separate bar area. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

A great disappointment tonight, I had lunch there last week and it was very pleasant. We decided to try dinner tonight, what a disappointment that was. If you like your food straight from a freezer into a deep fat fryer or a microwave then this is the place for you. The calamari as a starter was very stringy which we left unfinished. The main course was even more disappointing. The steak and kidney pudding was hard with cold meat inside, peas like bullets which we also left. The service was good and the quality of the beer was okay. I’m sure there was a board outside which promoted home cooked food. I didn’t see any evidence of that tonight. We have just left this pub after waiting nearly 30 minutes for our food order to be taken. When we arrived another customer had to ask the barmen if they could order food, so it wasn't just us who had to wait. Finished our drinks and went to the bar and paid for them and complained about the wait. The young man argued with us that he had been too busy to take our oder. He had been very busy play fighting with the barmaid behind the bar instead of looking after customers. He insisted on arguing with us that he had been too busy to serve us, which was a blatant lie. Absolutely dreadful experience regarding the food. Been here in the past and used the park for the kids and had a few drinks which are spot on. Occasionally we’d have lunch which was ok but what you’d generally expect from a pub grub, did the job. On this particular occasion though we went for dinner, what a massive mistake that was. Steak was like chewing on a placenta, kids burger was pink, chips could have done with more potato to go with the overused fat and the cottage pie had less grains of seasoning sprinkled on it than the amount of seasons in a year. We used to go to this pub a few years ago and it was lovely, great food and service, then it changed ownership and went downhill. It then closed for a time but when I was in Lichfield recently I saw it was once again open I don’t live nearby . I decided to take my mother for lunch to see what it was like and it was lovely, we arrived and were acknowledged by a young lady behind the bar, I wasn’t sure if we had to order at bar or at table but the young lady said she would take our order, she was very polite and the food was very nice indeed, my mother had salmon and I had gammon but there was plenty of options available, food was hot and perfectly cooked, we prefer these style of pubs to the...
