"We didn't stay in a room, I was really disappointed! The breakfast was just warm, but the presentation was good, and it looked good on the plate.. That's as good as it got! My yolk on my fried egg was hard and nut runny, and they pride themselves on the Black Bull Beans. These aren't for me, like little bullets, hard and very bland! I was told after my meal I could have had normal baked bean if I wished!! No good telling me after! "I went there for Christmas dinner with my partner and we had a horrible experience will never go again. My partner had steak which was lovely but the chips, onions, sauce and other accompaniments were cold. I had traditional turkey the only edible thing was the carrots and turkey! The roast potatoes were hard as rock and seemed either overcooked or cooked from frozen. The parsnips I couldn’t cut, cauliflower was hard and the pigs in blanket was so hard it couldn’t be cut. There wasn't even a yorkshire pudding. We complained just about mine and they brought me a new one but that was worse. In the end I only ate a few carrots and some turkey. I complained again when he came to ask how it was again. He said he would ask manager to come over, he took 15/20 mins in meantime my psrtmer had eaten his steak and I was just sat there. The manager offered to let us have our 1 drink each free plus one more round. I was grateful they had offered but it had still spoiled my Christmas and I was emotional as I work every year as a nurse on Christmas Day and cook when I get in (for 40 years) this was the only time I had been out for christmas dinner. It took 50 mins to clear our plates. I just wanted to go home but we had dessert to eat so I had that it was nice but was described as Eton Mess but it was just a big meringue with a dollop of cream on and about 2 strawberries chopped up no sauce at all. The server was nice but we couldn’t get anyone’s attention to get a drink even though we were the last sitting and the kitchen was closed, it wasn’t that busy. I am disappointed and even though they tried to help me it wasn't enough, when we paid £90 each. They warm everything up in the microwave I think apart from meat and fish that’s what it tasted like anyway."

"£78 per head x4 Christmas Day Meal. Hands down THE worse meal we 've ever had. Place is dirty, service very poor. Not one bit Chrimassy, stuck in a cold corner with four rubbish crackers chucked on a dirty sticky table. It was bad and just went down rapidly. In fact, by the time dessert came, being so bad, we actually had to laugh. Would definitely NOT recommend. I 'll be honest, I 'd had the best meal I 'd ever had there a couple of years ago and couldn 't wait. Totally destroyed our Christmas spirit and wallets to boot. All I could hear around us was the stay saying 'sorry about that ' over and over."

"Thought id try this place as not been for years and my friend had never been. We found a table and ordered are drinks and food using the app both deciding on the steak and philly wrap mine being med rare and mates medium well. Not a long wait at all till a lovely lady called Becky bought are meals we asked wich was which and to my friends disappointment hers had been done medium rear as well but was prepaid to try it and if struggling to return it which we did Becky was very appoligetic and bought a fresh one out. We also want to thank the chef Peter for being so understanding I even told the manager about are experience with Becky. WILL BE BACK"

"Went for tea Saturday 5.30pm. My daughter ordered Blade of Beef £19, the beef was dry and grisley, waitress took it back and re ordered, the lasagne £15, arrived in a small dish with just side of lettuce, garlic bread. The top was hot but not warm inside, daughter left it. Told waitress who then went into the chef, and came out saying it had been probe tested ..microwave, oven, microwave! The waitress was stroppy, saying should have said earlier! Daughter was hungry, then she said iv taken the beef off your bill but need to pay for lasagne! Don't think so when it's not cooked properly. She then said see TOM about the bill. He had added the lasagne, and argued that the probe test had been done. What don't they get , you don't pay for food not cooked properly! . In the end he removed the price from the bill begrudgingly. Have to say will not visit again. Staff need to remember... The customer is always right!! Sort your customer service skills too."
