Cafe Van Gogh - Carte

After living in London for 13.5 years, I had never been to Oval in South London before! Another customer of mine was thrilled to visit a completely vegan restaurant.

I had the grilled cheese toastie and it was delicious! The service was also great, very friendly. The cafe itself is really cosy as well. Will be coming back to try their Sunday roast for sure

When I was in, the music was tasteful and at the right level. Really cute space with relaxed vibe. Nice welcome from the server. Menu was so good it was difficult to choose! Up to date website was a plus too. Voir le carte

I am reviewing the service at this restaurant. The server was very friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome. I appreciate that they prioritize responsible business practices and sustainability. I ordered the curry for dinner, and while it was decent, it wasn't something I would be eager to have again soon.

One of the prettiest places I’ve been to! I just love the interior, it’s cosy. I also enjoyed the food. I had a vegan shakshuka, a latte, and a pain au chocolat. The pastries are warmed up when served — I think the pain au chocolat would be better cold but that’s just personal preference (and I can ask for that next time). Overall a really nice experience.

This place was amazing. The music was great, the server was this lovely British lady, and it’s an adorable cafe that job trains folks with learning disabilities. We had the French toast and the spiced cauliflower. They were both delicious without being too heavy. We got a cinnamon swirl for the road that was to die for. The hype is real! Probably the best place I've been too. The vibe, friendly staff and most importantly the quality of the food was spectacular! Could easily go there every day. Plus it's a non profit restaurant supporting kids with learning disabilities must go for anyone visiting London. After 2nd visit: Unfortunately the food wasn't as nice, it was lacking flavour especially the main course dishes hence 4*. Updated from previous review on 2023 08 04

I absolutely adore everything about this restaurant and can't believe it took us so long to finally visit. The building is beautiful and quirky, the staff are friendly, and the food is fantastic. We tried a variety of dishes including crispy tempeh with peanut and cucumber salsa, a cheese board, Shijitake-Shawarma, the Van Gogh burger with fries, aubergine parmigiana, and figella. The standout for me was the parmigiana, while the only disappointment was the cheese board which was a bit small and included a coconut-based cheese that didn't quite measure up to the nut-based options. I had heard wonderful things about Cafe Van Gogh, so I made a reservation for my friend and me to try their vegan cuisine. The restaurant has a great concept of training individuals with Special Needs in hospitality, which I admire. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff, Steve and Michelle, were enthusiastic and efficient. We opted to sit outside on a sunny Thursday and enjoyed the relaxed and happy vibe. The food was delicious, made with seasonal ingredients and innovative flavors. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.
