"Love the venue and have eaten here before and loved it so this is purely based on group menu. If you order off the normal menu you would not be disappointed. The staff are very friendly and polite but not as attentive as they have been previously as we kept having to ask for drinks orders. The room we were given was excellent with a roaring fire and doors to open if you got too hot. The table were set out in an n shape so you had your back to people. Arranging them in a square so we could sit around and talk to everyone would have been much better. As I understand it the chef was off so everything was prepped earlier. Starter was a few cocktail sausages, bread and olives. We had a buffet of two warmed up dishes that were edible but average tbh. Chicken and cream mushrooms with rice and a duck hot pot! Everyone seemed to enjoy the puddings. I expected more from a £40 per head menu not including drinks so was a little disappointed with this visit."

the bay horse inn is a large local pub that serves well over average pub food. local ingredients well cooked in good environment. exactly what I was looking for and I would be very happy to return.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch. The beef was superb, nice and pink with big roasties and creamy mash. Rich gravy as well as buttered carrots and cabbage came alongside. All lovely, only tiny niggle was that the veg portion was on the small side. It is not the cheapest of places but you certainly get what you pay for in terms of quality. Really rate this place, the food is fantastic and service was so friendly and knowledgeable. She told us she had been there for 10 years. It says a lot about the owners and the business.
