"We have been at that place a few times now. The menu is pretty large and the food ranges from basic to great (specially when you know that you are away from town!). Ask for non-nutrion or lactose or gluten free if you need it, and lots of vegetarian food is offered too. The staff is friendly (hey, they are italians :-)). The Pizza is made ia a wood oven. The wine menu is good too. The restaurant renovated and centrally located. Food is offered 7 days from 11 a.m. to around midnight (also unusual). If you need a table book before you arrive. Parking is close by."

"Sind auf einer Radtour zufällig hier gelandet und haben nur etwas getrunken, es hat uns hier wirklich sehr gut gefallen. Gern hätten wir für den Abend einen Tisch bestellt aber das war leider nicht mehr möglich . In der Saison sollte man 2 bis 3 Wochen im Vorfeld reservieren ! Auch mit Kindern kann man hier gut die Zeit verbringen, eine große Wiese und Spielgeräte sind an der Wirtschaft. Sehenswert ist auch die kleine Kirche direkt an der Wirtschaft."

"After walking around lake Staffelsee we decided to pop in to Alpenblick. Weather was stunning and the place was packed. Restaurant area is only inside and it's rather tiny. Biergarten area is outside. There you can only buy drinks, sausages and cake. Main dishes have to be ordered and picked up from the restaurant. It's not a big problem, but one would expect that the all food could be ordered also from biergarten area.Schnitzel was the cheapest dish costing 10€. Chips were dry, meat wasn't good at all. All other dishes costed in excess of 15€. Beer had absolutely no flavor, almost like it was diluted or something.On the positive side the view was stunning!I'm not sure if there are any other places to eat around Staffelsee, but I would not recommend this place."

"In the morning to the mountains, we're moving. In the midday store of the mountain, we fliehn, fallera – this is it!! All of Bavaria is on the return journey from Easter, which costs nerves. In addition, on our trip to Murnau, I notice that ALL, who drive faster like Schatzl are shaking idiots and ALL, who drive slower, incapable veils! At some point, the traffic wourm then spit out in Murnau, and we stroll comfortably through the pedestrian zone. It's warm, people smiling around us and the street gastronomy has all the hands to do. Well, he who knows and doesn't look for a free table. We leave the pedestrian zone in a safe way, bend twice and stand below the castle museum. A steep staircase up and we reach the almost orphaned host garden of the Schlossvogels Restaurant Lounge Bar and Café! Yes, here we can choose any table, even if only hard beer tents with guaranteed back pain, but what a view over the roofs of Murnau! Quiet! And super interesting menu!! This brings us immediately a friendly serviceman and gives us enough time to browse it. I agree with my belly “How much do you like?” “Two Gänge”, brummt’s back. All right, then I take a main course and a dessert: What rarely happens – I can't decide.... Fried goat cheese on colorful leaf salads with raspberry dressing? Or rather a hosting smoked salmon quiche?? No, not? Now I have it: Fried zanderfilet on Paprika Rahm Kraut!! When the service comes, I instead order Bärlauch Knödel on mixed salad with yogurt garlic dressing € 8.50 Schatzl would like Schnitzel Wiener Art with potato salad € 11.80 – how boring ; Against the thirst two large Rhabarber Schorlen € 3.40 . If the chairs weren't so hard, you could be so smooth, so pleasantly quiet it is here. But there is also a second, just as friendly service as the first one to bring us our food. How fine is that?! It's been a long time since I had such good dumplings. VERY long. Not too hard and not too soft, wonderfully covered with fresh beard, parmesan plank on top and the salad so fresh that it almost still licks. Mild glaring light dressing – I am happy. And this is also sweetheart with his carving, fried golden yellow, not only from above, also the underside some cooks mean yes, a carving side must be almost black as a smoker lung, which then belongs down, the guest does not look.... That's how it can go on. For example, with a lime mousse € 4.90 for me and an apple strudel € 3.30 for Schatzl and an espresso € 1.90 . The mousse is so creamy and fluffy that it was impossible for the kitchen to pierce perfect cams. But the taste... Even now when I write, the water is coming together again. I don't like apple strudel, so I'm not interested in what is served on Schatzl's plate. “Now try!” he needs me. All right, good? SUPER! Lightly warm, great the homogenous mass of small apple slices – that’s not how to buy it, you have to do it yourself. I would have added caramelized walnuts to the recipe, honey. But even without these two ingredients, the strudel tastes great. The only point of criticism, and this is what Schatzl also says when the operation comes to cleansing, the espresso was not hot. Without dizziness and sincere regret, she brings a new one. A model! On the way to the toilets I have made a few interiors, there are different angled areas for sitting – this has charm. Inside, too, everything is very clean, in the outdoor area there seems to be a certain slope to let down. Unfortunately, the place is not accessible, there are steps or stairs everywhere. Conclusion: The word “pittoresk” was probably invented for Murnau. A trip here is put to everyone's heart, and if hunger is coming, please, now everyone knows where! Parking is available for a fee, either on the pedestrian area side, from which we have come or from the other side, there is also the museum entrance."

"Alpenhof Murnau is a lovely member of the Relais/Chateaux association. It doesn't disappoint-- Murnau itself is a lovely town that attracted writers and painters like Kandinsky. Excellent rooms, suites, and the kitchen is outstanding. Both the "normal" dining and the gourmet restaurant have high (and delicious) standards and great service. The breakfast is one of the best I've experienced in Germany-- a beautiful buffet of all the "expected" items plus some Bavarian specialties-- like small weißwurst. And wonderful freshly squeezed orangejuice and champagne-- and, (very German) all sorts of pro-biotic health drinks. The hotel has a full service spa, a beautiful indoor pool (also an nice outdoor pool). In the distance you can see the Bavarian Alps in the direction of Oberammergau and Garmish-Partenkirche. But the little towns are the treasures. Of course-- Oberammergau with it's Passion Play every 10 years since the plague in the 1500's. The Passion Play Theater has all kinds of musical and dramatic performances-- concerts and even operas. The area is also the location of the Ludwig castles-- Neuschwanstein (the Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland is patterned after this one. "Mad" King Ludwig of Bavaria build a number of castles that you can easily visit from Murnau. (He was a supporter of composer Richard Wagner.) I've been back to Alpenhof Murnau a number of times and each time was a wonderful experience."
