Not a tourist destination, it’s worth seeking out! Leisurely service with shared tables when required. Very good food and beer!

Je suis allé là-bas pour un repas du soir, bonne sélection de bières. Menu limité, la nourriture était excellente, de même que le personnel avec un service rapide. Je le recommanderais

This was a good place for dinner. It definitely seemed more local than touristy. Tables were a little close together, but service and food were both good, and prices were very reasonable. If you're staying in this part of the city, definitely recommend.

we loved our experience in dresden, especially with eating. we were dining here last night and we knew how wonderful everything was, we would have come back more often. it is original, funky, historical and tasty. our meal and beer were great. my wife is gluten-free, and the waitress and cook that will be given to her.

this restaurant discovered in tripadvisor.com and we were so excited to enjoy our delicious meal. pork with mushroom sauce and chicken steak with cheese absolutely first rate in portion size and quality. local red beer was fantastic, very good with the meal. reispudding c...compote for dessert was delicious. great food, service and value. recommend this restaurant!

this is not a tourist trap; it's a place where local people eat, it even has a smoking area, which I personally do not like but for all others a defenite plus. The food is good, the atmosphere nice and the beer great. If you...do not know where to go, you can always visit Zum Bautzner Tor but unfortunately a reservation during dinner time 7-9 pm is most of the time necessary :

We were staying nearby and wanted something traditionally German before we left the area. This place ticks all of those boxes. We didn’t have a reservation but luckily they managed to seat us, and they even let me try out my rusty German all evening....We had 8 x 0.4 beers and 2 schweineschnitzel which came to just under €50. A great find and would definitely recommend for simple pub style food in a good atmosphere.

the place has a very typical interieur for dresden new town, an eclectic mix of old furniture and household items from different styles at times. the ambiente is very cozy. however, both food and service were average. the place offers its own beer, a design and a bottle. draft. so-called red beer was in order, but not what I expected was the freshly roasted red beer. the filled ipa had nothing to do with ipa! haxe, traditional German blackhead was the worst I ever had!

"I stayed at the hotel in which this restaurant is situated, it is on the 5th floor, and I passed it a couple of times but it was always empty. One reason, I think, is that the menu is rather obscure, with slashes between the dish description as inscallop/saffron/guava/back puddingA little off- putting, I felt. However, as a lone diner, I was getting pretty fed up of waiting for bad food each evening, although in a beautiful setting, Dresden's main square and its surrounds. So on my last night I treated myself and got a table on the roof terrace. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and produced a good selection of bread. It's clear there are 5 courses, an appetiser, a hot starter, a soup course, a main and dessert. I didn't want the soup. This wasn't a problem. To start, I had quail's egg/chick/gorgonzola/rocket, but it was so much more than that! It had a delicious fried bread cube, a gorgonzola sorbet, and crumbled herbs to garnish. It was, superb. But the description is selling itself short! The hot starter was also good, scallops in a saffron sauce, with a black pudding jelly. The "guava" ends up on the dish as a smear, nothing more. My main was beef/capers/sour cherries/ smoked aubergine, but again, more- a delicious sauce, and perfect mash- a small amount, but perfect....There are 3 dessert options, I enjoyed a nougat with gold leaf. In all, the food was beautifully presented, and the best food in Dresden so far, on a par, that is, with Kallemeiers where you have to book a table. This place deserves the same popularity but is selling itself short with the odd menu descriptions. It scares people off, like myself. I urge you to go and try for yourself. There's a great evening to be had, in a stunning setting."
