"It was a cold evening and perhaps a bit too late to venture to the Restaurant Michelangelo, but we did in hopes of getting in without a reservation. The staff greeted us nicely and perhaps felt a bit of compassion toward us. We were the...last ones in the door that night and were seated immediately. They have full menu as well as specialty items that change. Our meals could not have been better. We have dined through out Europe and in many areas in the USA and Canada. Restaurant Michelangelo has to rank among the best. Authentic, tasty, and hearty or light, it was Italian at its best. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Fine selections, fine service, fine dining and affordably priced. Too many great selections to choose from. Indeed a few of the guests commented that they had dined there 2 or three times during their stay in Rothenburg. I for one can see why. You could dine there daily and not run out of special treats from the appetizers to the main courses and desserts and not exhaust the excellent choices. If you are in the area of Rothenburg I cannot recommend Restaurant Michelangelo more highly. Its on my top dining list."

"Gemütliche italienische Pizzeria, mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Nach der ersten Enttäuschung, dass es auf der Speisekarte keinen Fisch gab und auch keine Miesmuscheln, fand ich auf der Tageskarte Pasta mit Pulporagout. Das habe ich bei noch keinem Italiener gesehen. Eine tolle Idee, und mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Auch das zweite Gericht Melanzane alla Parmigiana hat mir gut gemundet. Service: Dine in"

"The owners of the hotel were so lovely and friendly. We stayed for one night including breakfast. The room was clean and warm as we went during heavy snow, shame there was no tea making facilities as it would have been nice being in the freezing cold. Beds were comfy enough and the room we had also had a bathtub. No TV in ours, although some rooms have depending which you get assigned. Great location. The bad part of our stay was unfortunately this unpleasant woman working during the breakfast who proceeded to shout at us. Breakfast was served until 10.30am and my partner and I arrived at 10am to be served breakfast and usually there is no real time limit to finish this. (The breakfast was very generous and delicious) Not once were we told the staff was expecting us to finish everything AT 10.30. This blonde woman with glasses then came out at 10.25, didn’t speak to us and simply stood at our table staring. She then walked away. She then came out AGAIN at 10.30 rudely shoving a paper saying 10.30 in my partner’s face (he speaks German) and then she proceeded to raise her voice and shout at us for not eating quick enough and how they’re supposed to get the restaurant ready when they had enough time. Checkout is at 11am so we left breakfast at 10.50 to quickly pack up and check out, and by the time we came down the table was cleared. So it took less than 10 mins to clear our table and it was clearly unnecessary to have this woman ruin our morning and our stay. If you do stay here and have breakfast either get ready to finish 5 rolls of bread, 2 cakes, a cheeseboard, selection of meats, eggs, cereal, tea and coffee before 10.30 or get ready to be yelled at. She needs to learn manners tbh."

"We were allowed to six in the Separee in the basement and had a great evening thanks to the very nice, attentive and every fun party. We started with an incredibly delicious onion cake that was nicely loose. Duck, onion roasts, devil spits were excellent, beef beautiful pink and all abundant! We even got extra dumplings, sauce, late zle and blue wort again. The dessert plate definitely brought us to the limit, but was so incredibly delicious that we also cleaned them up to the last spoon. We had everything in all a very nice evening that far exceeded our expectations."

"This turned out to be a great place for beer and lunch. The beers on tap are from the local brewery which were good. They have a lot of other alcoholic drinks available as well if beer isn't your thing. As for the food, both dishes were delicious. The smoked trout was very balanced between the smokiness and natural flavor of the fish. The lamb kebab was amazing, the lamb itself had great flavor and tasted good without the herb sauce provided (which was also good). The vegetables and the fries were just as good, the natural flavors of the vegetables bringing out the lamb flavor. Definitely a good place to grab a bite to eat."
