"I looked at about the top 20 pubs here, and none looked quite what we were looking for (a traditional pub with proper beer, but nice food, not just fish chips, pie and chips etc . A local recommended this, and the Seven Stars. I am at a loss why this is not higher up the listings, as it was absolutely wonderful. Very central, near seafront, nice old building, small booth-type areas to get away from the crowds. Our young waitress could not have looked after us any better and the food was absolutely top-notch (better than the much more expensive restaurant we went to the night before . If I had to pick holes, it was not the hot steamy night you might expect at the end of June and the temperature inside was chilly. The meal we had (fresh fish with a bean stew was not quite a summer dish, but that was fine (see above! . And they do add a 12.5% service charge, which is on the high side (though we may have left more anyway, so they diddled themselves really! . That's all I can come up with on the negs! Keep up the good work, and thanks for making our visit so pleasant."

A very big bar with a pretty good rooftop and friendly and helpful staff. All in all a nice place for a beer.

This restaurant was amazing! They had gluten-free fish and chips and calamari that were delicious. The staff was knowledgeable about coeliac conditions and very friendly. The food was absolutely superb.

Great location moments from the sea front, very well priced. The portions are great and if you come in the evening or day time the top terrace is gorgeous to sit and enjoy your meal. Very knowledgeable staff and great hosts.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. I ordered the haddock and chips with my non-magical girlfriend and we both really enjoyed it. They are very knowledgeable about dietary restrictions, with several gluten-free options on the menu and even gluten-free beer on tap. Voir le carte

The gluten-free and vegetarian options at this restaurant are outstanding, including a delicious Sunday roast. The chips are cooked in a separate fryer to avoid cross-contamination. They also offer a great selection of draft cider. Don't miss out on their gluten-free fish and chips. A visit to this restaurant is a must.

My local pub in Brighton and I’m very glad for that fact! Old English pubs like this absolutely need to be saved and preserved for future generations. I stopped in here with my partner for Sunday roast and we not disappointed! The staff were all lovely and friendly, the menu was well put together, and the food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. The roast lamb fell off the bone and the potatoes were crispy and fluffy at the same time. The whole plate was great! Love the way the place is styled. It feels cosy and warm.
