"Food was good but dining experience was let down by the service on our table which is a shame as we were looking forward to dining here having had a previously good experience. The waiter seemed disinclined to take half our tables drink order, the specials were rambled off without a pause clarity, our food orders were not noted down which resulted in one coming back incorrect to which the waiter tried to argue the mixup being our fault (requesting chips rather than mash is fairly clear) and to top it off the toffee pudding dessert was found to have a date stone hidden inside which nearly cracked a tooth…on highlighting this to the waiter we received no further communication on the matter and a bill for the full amount. Service could have been a lot better."

celebrate our 20-year anniversary with some special people. we had made the pie of the star, which was amazing. the cousin of my wife is a butler at the fish merchant yellowde to order him the seafood and really enjoy seeing it was wonderful. thanks for the

Memories of good times with the previous legend landlord Roger. Whilst they may have been the good old days, the place is certainly a lot cleaner and more hygienic with modern fixtures and furnishings. A nice local with friendly staff and convivial atmosphere.

Cosy gastropub, the food is always a delight, even simple dishes have a wealth of taste and intricacy to them. Unfortunately it is slightly let down by the service which is often on the slow side and seems more akin to a local pub than the more refined experience the star is going for. Would still recommend though.

Had not been to The Star Inn before but visited last week with my husband and was extremely impressed. Was very clean, a great atmosphere, a fantastic gin menu for me, an extensive wine list for hubby, varied menu for all tastes and the food was amazing quite possibly the best fish I have ever eaten! We will be coming back very soon.

excellent eating at a reasonable price. menu covers most basic with vegan options plus additional specialties. the personal is friendly and the restaurant is very clean and well furnished. I had the cake full of meat and delicious baked and cheesecake for dessert. my wife had the duck, followed by trio. Both are commendable. is looking forward to a visit. as a footnote. there is a cheap parking within two minutes to walk from the star, right on the main street.
