The Riverside - Carte

I have visit the Riverside since it was refurbished on several occasions and I new what to expect . The food is ok and the service is aceptable and friendly .

The food was excellent and the staff were superb. All four of us had something different and it was all very good. We arrived at last light and the veiws were beautiful. Thankyou for a lovely evening

It's fantastic to find a pub offering a vegan menu, especially in such a beautiful location and not in a area that I would have expected to be vegan-friendly. The food was excellent and reasonably priced! By the way, you order at the bar. Voir le carte

we really enjoyed eating and the service was excellent the only part was that the restaurant was not aware of the fork and had never heard of you. this caused a problem to get the 50 discount for eating and we were there for age groups who are fighting with them until they were adhered to. an unsatisfactory end of a very pleasant meal

I tried the harissa eggplant and spinach burger at this restaurant and it was fantastic. It came with a tasty side salad of cauliflower couscous and kale with a delicious dressing. I also had the treacle and pecan tart with coconut sorbet, which was delicious. The prices were reasonable and the food was very tasty. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more dishes from the menu.

Having booked a table for 12.00.we did not get served till 1.00. We ordered cod, chips, mushy peas tartare sauce. Peas tasted weird fish poor quality.Instead of tartare sauce, we were given mayonnaise. I politely explained to waiter, the error, he said he'd get a replacement......yes, you've guessed it......More mayonnaise!!!...... he tried to convince me it was tartare sauce !!!......I'm no top chef, but I think there's a big difference, but he continued to disagree.... ...So I gave up, no tip this time. I have dined at this restaurant a few times but I do not recommend it. The separate vegetarian menu is quite basic. I ordered the masaman curry, which arrived lukewarm. It was a small portion for £15, especially compared to my friend's plate of linguine. There was not much sweet potato in the curry, some pieces were undercooked. The fine green beans were also a bit too al dente for my liking. Additionally, the rice was crispy in some places. The only redeeming factor of this meal was the view of the river.

This restaurant was a real find, situated next to the river with tables outside (lovely views) in the restaurant and also more casual in the bar. It was busy but that didn’t affect the service which was friendly and efficient. We ordered the pork belly and the lamb and it was so delicious we have booked to go again before our holiday is over. They also offer mini deserts with coffee which I always like and again, these were nicely presented and tasty. Lots of choice on the menu for both meat lovers and veggies.

I chose the aubergine coconut curry, when it arrived it looked good. However, the curry was about 5 small mouthfuls, was lukewarm. It did have 4 broccoli spears and a chilli on the side, which hardly counts as a normal sized meal. Majority of the meal was one great hard clump of rice, which was terrible and I didn't eat. Customer service was good, they did offer to cook me some more rice or get me something else. My non vegan friend had a lovely meal, large portion of seabass, potato's, veg. Apple and damson crumble with custard was yummy and vegan. Voir le carte
