Food was hot, well presented, flavoursome. Served by a young lady called Tory, who could not do enough for my sister and I, she was friendly, helpful, and professional. I used this pub a while ago, so pleased that the standard of food was as good.

Frozen meats and vegetables ..and argumentative rude staff after returning a meal which smelt foul and was inedible …I know it’s not a good day to have a birthday but I live just up the road and have visited on a few occasions. The standard of food has dropped considerably I wanted a nice evening with my 2 grown up children and grandchildren. A RUINED Birthday! Very disappointed!!!!!!!

My family has been coming to The Railway during our vacations for the past five years. Since it was renovated a few years ago, we have never been disappointed. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options for everyone. Every dish we have tried has been expertly cooked, with generous portions at reasonable prices. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is welcoming. What more could you ask for in a restaurant?! Voir le carte

Staff appeared disinterested and were unhelpful. They didn't know the menu but did check our order twice and still got it wrong! One member of staff was most put out, but the other apologised and acknowledged the mistake. Service was slow and not friendly we would have ordered deserts but were not asked when the main plates were taken or in the next 10 minutes, so paid the bill at the bar and left. No enquiry about enjoying the meal. Food was mostly good, when the correct order was delivered, but the service grim. Shall not return.

During our week-long stay at the Railway cottages nearby, we stopped by this restaurant. The interior was unexpectedly elegant compared to the exterior, which was undergoing construction and had fencing around it, causing some confusion about its opening status. I tried the special, a delicious butter chicken curry, while my wife thoroughly enjoyed her ham and eggs. While they usually have cask ale available, unfortunately it was unavailable during our visit due to delivery issues. The staff was friendly and we had a pleasant experience. I would recommend this restaurant.

Good food (when it finally arrived! but service was atrocious. Firstly we were told that one menu choice wasn't available, then a few minutes later that it was available! The service was extremely slow we had to wait well over an hour for our meals. In fact several other people arrived after we had ordered, ate their meals and left before we were even served. When we asked what had happened to our meals we were told that it was because we were a larger party (5 adults and 2 kids ! It was supposed to be a birthday celebration but was memorable for all the wrong reasons! We will not be eating there again. Voir le carte

We (3 couples) visited the restaurant on Friday evening and we welcomed on our arrival. We had pre booked our table and this was set inside. Due to being a lovely evening we asked if it was possible to sit outside The barman said that was not an issue and then explained that we would have to order our food and drinks at the bar. We were happy with those arrangements. There is a good range on the menu to meet all needs. There is a good range of vegetarian choices . We order our meals and they were served in a timely manner. The food was really tasty and the portion sizes were good. We all had an enjoyable evening.

Visited in a small party of 5 for a birthday. Meals do not appear to be freshly prepared, Roast meats are of particularly poor quality (pre-sliced FROZEN processed reformed meats) which were obviously heated via the MICROWAVE judging by how scolding hot it was served. You would get a better standard of food in Wetherspoons at half the price. When a member of my party sent the food back as being inedible, the staff were defensive and argumentative rather than apologetic. I visited this restaurant on Friday for an early weekend dinner because it was conveniently located near where I was staying and looked appealing. We were greeted by a friendly young waitress at the bar and placed our drink orders while we decided on our food. The menu looked impressive with a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options. I chose the 'vegetable and bean chilli' while my friend opted for the gammon. The gammon was well-cooked and delicious, but unfortunately, the chilli left much to be desired. It was watery and lacking in flavor, with no vegetables or meat substitute - just beans in a sauce that resembled canned tomato soup. I believe the chef could benefit from more effo... Voir le carte
