"Arrived for Sunday lunch a little early and we were directed to the bar to have a drink until our table was ready.2 gents already at the bar waiting to be served. 1 person behind the bar still setting up the area to be able to serve, no ice , no nozzles on the pumps and then the till/card machine wasn’t working properly. After waiting almost waiting 20 mins for drinks, we gave up and went through to the dining area. We explained what had happened to who we believe was the head waitress. She apologised and said that should not have happened and went and got us our drinks herself which were given complimentary. We chose from the menu and both opted for the soup as a starter. When the soup came I had to ask for soup spoons as they weren’t on the table or brought with the soup. If you have soup on the menu the tables should be set up accordingly they can be easily removed if not needed. Soup was ok but there was a bit too much salt in for my liking. The bowls were removed when we had finished and we were both looking forward to our roasts. After half an hour we still had not received our mains, bearing in mind people who had come in after us and had starters had been given their mains and were almost finished. I am never usually one to say anything, but on this occasion I did. For whatever reason our main had been overlooked and it came out within a few minutes of having to ask.The presentation of the meal was not great everything was piled on top of each other with a Yorkshire pudding on the very top. The meat was lovely, I had Roast Pork and my husband the beef, but the rest of it was mediocre. The hotel it self looked lovely with nice surroundings looking out on to the golf course. For a hotel the has a grand sounding name the meal and service we received was anything but grand, with the exception of the head waitress who tried to rectify things as best she could."

I was not very impressed with this restaurant. Despite not being busy, the service was slow and there were limited menu options. The breakfast was also subpar. The waiter kept saying "No worries" repeatedly.

We visited during Restaurant Week and were extremely impressed. Everything was outstanding - from the friendly greeting to the attentive service, delicious food, and elegant dining space. We will definitely be coming back.

Loved the food, atmosphere and service. I stayed 5mins down the road and had been disappointed by the lack of quality food and restaurants. Saw a sign for the restaurant and booked in same day! The food was incredible and so glad I found this little gem!

Very poor service. Great chef who has been badly let down by the front of house. Tables not ready when we arrived, 3 items on menu not available (at 6pm on a Saturday night). Was given the ‘Norfolk restaurant week’ menu and then after we had chosen was told we had the wrong menu and was given a lesser menu to choose from

A really delicious Sunday lunch although they had run out of their Norfolk pork roast which we were looking forward to. Our lunch booking was late on into the service so I suppose it is understandable. The service was excellent and very caring (we had a baby elderly parent with dementia in our party!! Will definitely be back!! Voir le carte

We recently dined at the Mulberry Restaurant and enjoyed the Norfolk Restaurant Week Menu. The menu offered a variety of options for starters, mains, and desserts. I opted for the cured salmon with blackberries and lime gel, while my wife chose the ham hock terrine with poached egg pea puree. Both dishes were beautifully presented and the flavors were excellent. For our mains, I had the pan-fried hake with mashed potatoes, peas, pancetta, and crispy leeks, and my wife had the pan-roasted chicken breast with dauphinois potatoes, sweetcorn puree, and crispy kale. The flavors and combinations of both dishes were fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, and it was clear that the chefs w...

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
