If I had a couple of criticisms, I would say the staff seemed a bit indifferent; during our three visits, we had to chase them down for service all but once. Additionally, as someone who enjoys a good beer, I found the selection lacking—only Stella was available, with no craft beers in sight!

Dinner was absolutely brilliant. We got the 2 courses at £31. Service was great. Food was sensational. Would highly recommend the duck and the chicken with peppercorn sauce. I had a wonderful evening at this restaurant last week. It was my first time dining at the Hydro, despite having lived in Dunblane for years. The Kailyard was outstanding; the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just right. For my meal, which was dinner, I spent about £40-50 per person. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5 as well.

After a week's holiday in the South, my husband, our daughter, and I dined at the Kailyard restaurant at the Hydro on Wednesday, August 1st. A staff member seated us at a table in the middle of the dining room, but we quickly wished for a more private corner. Stephen, who greeted us and presented the menu, was incredibly helpful. I asked him if we could move to a different table, and with genuine kindness, he promptly went to check and helped us relocate to a lovely, private spot by the window overlooking the garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and had a delightful evening. Thank you, Stephen, for your excellent customer service and for taking such good care of us.

We ate here this evening whilst staying in the hotel. When we went to book a table in the restaurant (they don’t take walk-ins even for hotel guests) we were informed that there were no tables for another two hours. As we are frequent travellers and had only booked the hotel a few hours earlier I decided to book, what a mistake I made; even during the process of creating the booking the gentleman walked away to fix a card machine for a colleague. With a one year old baby this was less than ideal but we happily went back at 8pm. We were then made to stand in a queue for another 10 minutes before we were seated.
