"after the most recent recommendations of some friends, we decided to come to lunch. the menu was as expected from wetherspoons. Friday afternoon and yes they were comfortably busy. none of the less service was good and pleasant staff. we decided to treat gourmet steaks. beautifully presented and cooked on request. now they don't do that good. my own steak was a bit hard and my wife had a surplus of gristle. a big shand, maybe needed more care."

Wanted an early lunch.Pub not too busy , ordered before 12. Waited a long time and food stone cold and congealed! Absolutely dreadful and won't be coming again!

Came for a quick bite to eat with my mum. Really helpful staff regarding Covid guidelines. Easy to order on the app and fast service. Wrap came out cold unexpectedly but staff happy to warm it up. Not your average Spoon's.

The meal (fish n chips with as much coffee as you can drink) was good value for money the batter was really good and not oily. The place looked welcoming but the tables could do with a bit more attention. Hadn't been cleaned very well. Overall good, and I would return.

really nice, clean inviting ‘shoes’. as always good, cheap and consistent eating. only one person behind the bar (again, typical weatherspoons,) but the service was fast enough and as expected. tables and cutlery were clean and the servers were friendly and simply great at their job.

The quality of the wraps and paninis at this restaurant has significantly declined in recent weeks, with the fillings becoming more and more sparse with each visit. This has ultimately led us to decide not to eat there again. It is important for the manager to address this issue and ensure that the staff is properly portioning the food as all servings are supposed to be consistent, but clearly are not.

Whilst away on business we had a fair few meals here... for the man part all were absolutely lovely and so nicely cooked. The last meal I ate here was the mixed grill, something didn't taste right I have no idea what it was but I didn't eat it all, which is most unusual for me. The following 5 days I was ill with an upset stomach .. I couldn't leave the house tbh.. Such a shame as previously all other meals had been absolutely lovely.

"I've been in Horncastle on business twice once on a Monday, once on a Tuesday and both times found the town mostly closed for business in the evenings. This time, just as I was on the point of deciding people in Lincolnshire must have a tradition of fasting on a Tuesday evening, I came across The Bull. This attractive old coaching hotel looked inviting, and the staff offered me a friendly welcome. The warmly lit, high ceilinged interior of this Georgian inn was full of diners (Yes on a Tuesday! Take note, other restauranteurs of Horncastle) and the ambiance was convivial. The selection of beers behind the bar was good and the two pints I drank were tasty and well kept. I was presented with two bar menus, a separate burger menu and shown a fish menu and a steak menu on the wall. (I understand tapas is also available at weekends). Quite a choice! The bar menus largely consisted of what you might call traditional pub grub of the best kind. Within that massive choice, there must have been at least half a dozen dishes I was really tempted by but, eventually, I plumped for the cauliflower soup followed by the pork belly, mash, peas and apple gravy. Both courses were outstanding and extremely generous in size, especially the pork belly. My only disappointment was that I hadn't room in my distended belly to squeeze in a spotted dick for pudding! My bill, for such a large and excellent meal, was very modest. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at The Bull and would definitely eat and/or drink there again."
