I had the pork sunday roast it was disappointing: the meat was quite fatty, veg OK ish too much red cabbage but biggest issue only 3 very small roast potatoes!

Surprisingly good meal, although we felt too many vegetables for the Sunday roast. Some of the meals were not as hot As would be expected. Otherwise Would recommend To Any.

After having a fab roast dinner a few months ago my husband and i were slightly disappointed last sunday with our lunch time roast. Potatoes wern't cooked and it was very tasteless overall. Will try again another day. Voir le carte

We enjoy the dining room,as part of being with other people..we prefer not to be disturbed by small children running and screaming!! But love the menue, the beef needs to be very well done for one of us.puddings seem a bit all for the price.but very tasty.

The large room with all the decoration was perfect for a meal where you wished titration to each other and be heard. The high ceiling added to the sense of space. We regularly go out for a meal with these friends and we were all positive about the restaurant.

The nut roast was a little dry and the vegetables had clearly been pre cooked for all the roasts and just sitting in the kitchen waiting to be used. That being said, the casual atmosphere and lovely furnishings made for a good venue to catch up with friends. Had driven past a few times on holiday. Booked online for a Friday evening, was busy so service was a bit slower later on. Great variety of dishes on offer from lighter salads to pies and steaks. One diner was nut allergic and there allergy file was very comprehensive we were very impressed. We were a table of 4 and were not rushed at any point, nice relaxed meal. There were a mixture of diners from families with small children, couples and groups of adults celebrating.

The service at the restaurant was disappointing as the staff were not welcoming and took a long time to take our order and serve drinks. It was later revealed that they were understaffed, leading to the existing staff appearing unhappy. The food took a while to arrive and one of the meals was incorrect, resulting in a lengthy wait for a replacement. In addition, the draught beers were subpar, possibly due to inadequate cleaning, and one glass had a crack in it. The food was average at best, with overcooked vegetables and undercooked meats served lukewarm. Desserts and coffee did not improve the experience. I had a lovely time meeting up with a friend with great food, service and atmosphere. The one big dampener was being phoned the day after by House Martin, with the person telling me I left without having payed. I explained in as much detail as I could, how we did pay our bill which was split in two with both of us paying in cash. I also provided the time we left. This appeared to be accepted but I was then phoned again later in the day with another person making the same accusation. I again explained in detail and was asked if I could provide proof.
