Lovely place, looks a bit dated inside, don't let that put you off. It adds to the character, lovely meal, absolutely amazing staff and very well priced. A proper little gem.

Great local pub has a lovely family feel. Always enjoy the food here especially the burgers and scampi dishes. Not a regular but notice the Staff are always attentive and friendly and happy to accommodate us.

Just the best, most welcoming experience ever. Superbly dog friendly, outstanding home cooked food, can't wait to visit again next year. We live in Kent the locals make you feel so welcome and the staff are just lovely.

Impressed with the refurb, the menu is good, food very good quality and very tasty. Friendly staff. The amberwood has a good atmosphere, it definelty quirky as some parts from the previous owners live on, being on the main road pulls in a good handful or interesting customers. What's not to love about a proper pub where people can enjoy eating and communing with each other.

Just been here for a family meal while on our holiday. Food was perfect, and the portions were vast. I asked for changes to the meal and they were more than happy to accommodate. The food look like its freshly made, none of this frozen food from large chain restaurants. The staff were brilliant, interacting with the kids, very friendly and welcoming. If I lived local, I would be back here tomorrow.

Second visit in a week, hadn’t been for years up to this week. The atmosphere since the refurb is loads better and super comfy to sit in. Food quality is really good, fresh and piping hot, good choice and generous portions. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Will deffo be back, pleased it seems to be back to its old standards as can add it to the list of local places to eat drink. We were impressed.

We came down for a Sunday dinner with the whole family, 4 adults, 1 child, 1 infant, and the dog. The food was amazing, good portion sizes, lovingly prepared, and tasted great. They were happy for the dog to sit with us in the bar area. Everyone enjoyed their meals. And to top it off they held a meat raffle in aid of macmillan, in which we won a lamb joint which was turned into a roast the next day! Staff are very friendly, locals welcoming, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended if over in the area. Surprisingly it wasn't that busy for a Sunday lunch period (although we were booked in for 2:45pm) Definitely worth the 5 stars.

We visited The Amberwood last week plenty of room for parking and such a lovely welcome. I just have to say what an incredible job the new owners have done. The whole place has been totally transformed and the new look is incredible with a lovely atmosphere and also being very dog friendly. Absolutely Amazing food I had the Carbonara which was the best I have ever tasted and my wife had the Lasange and she also said the same, the quality, presentation and service were second to none and so very friendly and helpful especially Nina. An absolutely first class experience from start to finish. We phoned for a table for Sunday lunch at short notice, to be told that the restaurant was full at most pubs that would be the end of the conversation, but no I was asked to hold for a moment while they worked out if we could have a table in the pub itself the answer was yes! We arrived 15mins later to find some rearranging had gone we were now seated in the restaurant. All in all, a very friendly welcome combined with excellent customer service absolutely delicious food all made for a memorable lunch an experience that we would thoroughly recommend.
