"Since we last visited some years ago the Everest has made a real effort with their décor including a new beer garden out front. Lighting inside is decorative and colourful but overall ambience is a little too bright maybe? Our food was very disappointing, we ordered Everest Special Mismas and Mixed Grill Masala as mains. Both were higher priced dishes that were supposed to include prawns but there were none in either dish. The Mismas didn 't look anything like the menu photo but in fairness they do state Photos are for suggestion only: Actual Platters may appear DIFFERENT . The Masala grill was described as medium sauce but our dish was very mild with no trace of chilli heat. The stuffed paratha was undercooked and greasy. Pilau rice and vegetable bhuna side however were both very good. Kingfisher and Cobra are served on draft but both were charged 30p a pint more than the printed menu price it 's gone up was the explanation. Prices overall are fair but I was hoping for authentic tasty food that at least lived up to the menu descriptions."

"Couples visit for a birthday on a quiet Wednesday evening. Was hoping for a great meal as it 's the first time we 've managed to get out since having a baby 3 weeks ago and organising childcare etc is always tough. 10mins after ordering we were told the starter that was labelled 'Gluten Free ' isn 't actually gluten free and was mislabelled on the menu so my partner had to change her order which of course is disappointment. Concerning as this was only caught as our waitress double checked with the chef. I had ordered bread and olives for starter however only the the bread was brought out until the manager noticed I was missing the olives, oil, vinegar and side plates. They had also brought my 'half starter ' out without my partner having anything brought out. The mains were prompt and tasty albeit very expensive for the steak. The wait staff were uncommunicative and apart from the manager seemed oblivious to our issues. Disappointed that nothing was taken off the bill and there was even the default 10% service charge added! Not one to kick up a fuss but won 't be returning."

"Friends encouraged us to try this takeaway instead of out other favoured local restaurant, stating everything was so fresh, so for our once a month Friday night treat we decided to give it a go. I wish we had just ordered from our reliable trusted restaurant. Poppadum's were rancid and inedible, clearly VERY old fat in the fryer. Pappads were burnt. Mint sauce was watered down so split, the mango chutney was sugary water, also watered down. The Onion salad has very little coriander, no mint and tough. The Nann was undercooked, chewy and insipid, the Tikka Balti had sliced chicken not cubed, but the Tikka Masala had cubed chicken? I have no idea what went wrong, but it was to such an extent I will never ever be ordering again."

"I've lived in many places in the UK being in construction. I eat a lot of Indian food, so I feel I'm well placed to pass judgement having eaten curry in I would guess over 100 restaurants and take aways. Can I just say Zyka is the best, there was only one who can compete but would probably loose the competition in the best indian I've ever had. I have tried many dishes over the years and never had a bad one, from starters to desserts and everything in between Zyka is exceptional, which is why it is the only curry house I ever use now in the Reading area. I've never been in for a meal but I hope to some day. Great work guys, you clearly have a passion for food, it shows. Thanks for continuing to surpass exceptionalism. Vegetarian options: My wife is Vegan, they always strive to provide fantastic food for her. Kid-friendliness: Always super helpful.
