"Aday on Millport island is relaxing to say the least. From the moment we walked off the ferry and on to the coach,we were aware of the leisurely atmosphere. We left the bus in Millport outside the Pier Hotel and walked the two mile promenade eventually stopping at the above cafe for a drink. We sat outside and waited for our drinks.Out came the owner with not only the drinks, but a general description of the history and the attractions on the island. The drinks were well priced, and well presented."

Been here many times and never had any complaints. The food is locally sourced and absolutely delicious. Nothing is ever too much trouble.

Great lunch today. Toasties with fantastic bread and great value. Well worth walking a few hundred extra yards towards Kames Bay for quality grub! Will be back.

Seen good reviews for the cafe so we went in for breakfast. The service was very good and helpful. I can recommend the scrambled egg, bacon and toast. Good food at good prices. Voir le carte

Came for lunch with my family and friend and have to say it was lovely. Nice and clean with lots to choose from toasties, soup, french toast, breakfasts, pancakes. MASSIVE scones too but didn't have the room to try them, maybe next time!

A quick pop in this morning for a breakfast, fast and friendly service. Full Scottish breakfast was amazing, the haggis is the best I've had and everything else was really very tasty. My wife had the French toast and crispy bacon and we shared a pot of tea. Sorry, I only have the one photo, I was too busy tucking into mine Voir le carte

We arrived at the cafe with two very hungry boys who had just done the longest cycle of their life! The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. My 8 year old said it was the best lunch he’d ever had! The toasties were yummy and we really appreciated the homemade coleslaw and potato salad. Will definitely be back.

Great spot for a cuppa and light lunch. We popped in on Sunday and watched the weather change about four times, outside. Such is the weather in Scotland! I liked the white decor. Lovely staff and owner. They were quick and genuine and answered all our guests questions. Great chat; great fun. Nice selection of things to eat. Not expensive. We'll be back, very soon.

"This is restaurant that in the past my family has visited and thoroughly enjoyed which lead them to taking me and my partner there for my 40th birthday celebrations. From the beginning they claimed to not have our booking even though we had electronic evidence of it being made. We struggled to get the attention of the barman to get a drink as we had to wait for our table. When at table we found the waiter service to be very slow throughout our visit even as the restaurant got quiet with only a few patrons left. Also the food provided was below standard such chips under cooked, salmon undercooked, undercooked lamb, cold peas etc and wrong items provided such as asking for tap water and being provided with mineral water, also a smashed burger was ordered and a normal burger was provided. At the end of the service we ordered another round of drinks and they weren’t provided as ordered as we waited more than 15-20 mins for it so decided to get bill too see they had been added which then added around £20 to bill. Luckily we noticed and got our money back. As it was a 40th birthday celebration my family provided 40 candle for staff to then replace with their own high burning candle which nearly caught light shade at table. This was a poor service for a Saturday night the staff seemed distracted and unorganised throughout and unable to cope with the amount of customers. I do not think I will attend in future as feel this dampened our celebration"

"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"
