"I booked the Bat Ball for Christmas Dining as a gift to my mum and dad, from me. A 3 course meal to enjoy together for a change. The pub, as all the other visits there, took the best care of my parents and gave them a memorable night with delicious cuisine cuisine to match. I've received a stream of WhatsApp messages from my mum saying how much they have enjoyed themselves. A worthy gift, to worthy people,complimented by a wonderful team of staff from the Bat Ball who always exceed expectations. Thank you so much!"

Nice decor and lots of cricket memorabilia. Food excellent and staff all pleasant. Quick service. Well done all staff and chef. My fish was delicious.

Fabulous lunch here with far reaching views of the South Downs. Food was excellent. Also next to one of the oldest cricket grounds in the UK, Broadhalfpenny Down.

Beautiful location view. Several vegan options also with a reduced menu (by Covid). Food was great, especially the rice pudding style dessert. They had soy milk for coffee.

Beautiful location, staff and atmosphere, but go somewhere else when you eat! A vegan dish that tastes like cooked package microwave rice with slightly seasoned tofu... unfortunately dry and tasteless.

Food taste okay, they know how to make a good tasting salad, but there are only two or three options not really vegan friendly If you go for the landscape, do it. Updated by previous rating on 2021-09-01

The garden has beautiful views; the food is always good; and the staff are very accommodating. The pub is dog friendly but also very clean. Great stop after a walk in the countryside. For the best dining experience, book early I think the kitchen closes around 8pm most days, slightly later on weekends.

beautiful meal on the tables behind the pub with magnificent views of the landscape. great story as a place of birth of the cricket! good choice on the menu and a child menu ... although the chips were not great (I'm just no fan of double boiled chips seem like new boiled rest), but not enough to lose a star! also amazing atmosphere in pub with all cricket memorabilia. would recommend it.
