"that was accidentally found at picking up my life from the airport and avoiding the costs at the airport. he went here and we went to Sunday dinner. no cheaper place, but that was beautiful. we both had lunch. the rosmarin and garlic roast potatoes were perhaps the best I ever had. my **** and stuffed was £13.50, his honeybuckle ham was £14.50 we shared a huge yorkshire pudding that was £1 extra, but much big enough to share. there were many beautiful engravings, no need to ask more, but if desired we could have done it. we will come back to the final when we pick up family members from the airport. four stars as a price for 4 of us with drinks were not far from £100, but if they want a real tasty bite while they pick up on holiday adventure, this is a great place to do this."

I fought for a business lunch, the service was fast and the eating was tasteful with decent portions 2 in the group had the fish finger sandwich and chips that was beautiful. to drink it was paddy's day, so guinness was the only choice, it was kept in order. good prospects for arriving flights from the back restaurant

Visited on 22nd September at lunch time. Not been in for over 15 years and it was nice to see it had been renovated yet still retained some of the old features. I had the cheese pie with chips and gravy. It was simply the BEST CHEESE PIE I HAVE EVER HAD. Wonderful. I wanted to buy the lot… Stunning food. Also the two ladies who served us were wonderful, very attentive, very friendly. Sorry I did ask your names but my memory is rubbish! Will definitely be back… thank you!

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
